I have been his patient for over 20 years - first for finding better treatment for my lifelong asthma - which he ended up curing! I continued to see him to boost my immune system through acupuncture, herbs and QiGong and this took away aches, pains and kept colds, flu, etc. away. When cancer happened I used Western medicine for the cure and Dr. Wang's treatments for recovery. Dr. Wang later suspected my cancer had returned. I came for my neck issue as I usually suffer this as an office worker. For reference, I suffer stiff necks twice or thrice a month. After coming to Dr. Yu, it took about two to three sessions and after the third, my stiff neck went away and now, I do not experience any stiff necks and it has been 4 months now free of pain. I now go to him for my other health issues and so far, I see and feel the difference. I can just say that I feel "lighter" and just generally happier after having sessions with him. Dr. Yu is very thorough with his examination: he asks the right questions as well as give suggestions that are so easy to follow, it is almost impossible to not do them. After months of searching for an Acupuncturist, I located Dr. Cho who is an in-network provider for my health Insurance carrier. Upon completion of my initial visit, he informed he's not billing Insurance and I would have to pay for my visit out of pocket and seek reimbursement from the insurance company. I thought it to be a little odd but no problem. He swiped my card for $120 and informed he'd email me a receipt. Cool! I received the receipt the following week and immediately submitted it to my insurance company to seek reimbursement less my $25 co-pay. A couple of months go by and I had not received reimbursement. I contacted the Insurance company and was informed the provider (Dr. Cho) billed for treatment and was reimbursed instead. I sent Dr. Cho an email inquiring about reimbursement and he insisted he had not billed for my service and has not been paid. I argued with my insurance company for about a month, filed a Department of Insurance complaint as I'm am owed $95. So finally 4 months later I got a call from an Executive with the insurance company confirming Dr. Cho in fact billed and was reimbursed and he should be the one reimbursing me and Dr. Cho should NOT be requiring contracted patients to pay upfront. Fast forward to today, I receive an email from Dr. Cho offering to reimburse me but at a lower rate than what I'm owed. No sir, you will pay me everything I am owed and not a penny less. He's agreed to reimburse the $95 I am owed. I do plan to have him pursued for Insurance fraud.

I was provided the acupuncture service without any talk about what it will entail, no questions around my state... a very minimal conversation. He also tried to sell some herbs which I declined. The worst part was about the payment. He told me that he does not work with my insurance after the service was provided. I would have expected to be told that in the first place. I had to pay in full and given a very basic receipt. I went back a couple of days later to ask for an itemized invoice so that I can submit an out of network claim with my insurance. He offered to write a handwritten note.... which I can't use. So I am left with an out of pocket expense.
