Dr. Wang is an amazing acupuncturist and herbalist. His custom herbs don't come cheap (about $100…read moreper batch) but they are well worth every dime! I'll spare you the details, but trust me - my situation went from very bad to very good in just 2 weeks of medicinal tea. His bottled herbs and tea are arguably less pricey (I've paid anywhere between $15-$20/100 capsules) but in my experience, he's only recommended them for continued maintenance of a condition, or else as a remedy for a more common ailment (i.e. a muscle relaxant). In general, though, he mentioned that the fresh-dried herbs he mixes for tea are much, much stronger than the capsules. Acupuncture is about $90 per session, no appointments needed. I appreciate that he is very accessible, and his knowledge is seemingly boundless. (And no wonder - He told me once that he began his studies in China at the age of 14!) He is also exceptionally kind, and exceedingly patient. He will also do all he can to help patients afford the herbs they need. I highly recommend Dr. Wang to anyone with a chronic illness, as his remedies are curative. And I especially recommend him to anyone who has had a traumatic experience with the western medical scene.

By the way, his son Xiao, a graduate of Bastyr University's Acupuncture Master's Degree program, is also a part of the practice. Dr. Xue Zhi Wang is an O.M.D. trained in China. I have been his patient for over 20 years - first for finding better treatment for my lifelong asthma - which he ended up curing! I continued to see him to boost my immune system through acupuncture, herbs and QiGong and this took away aches, pains and kept colds, flu, etc. away. When cancer happened I used Western medicine for the cure and Dr. Wang's treatments for recovery. Dr. Wang later suspected my cancer had returned. This time he treated my early stage cancer (with my cancer doctor monitoring my progress) with herbs, acupuncture and guiding me through Qi Gong practice and a prescribed diet of lots of veggies, fruit and water. Horrendous "consultation", which was really just a barrage of criticism. At the end of the meeting, Julie said "you're going to start over with me" as if she decided she was going to take me as her patient before I decided to accept her as my herbalist. She proceeded to prescribe me several herbs, and then charged me for the next appointment! As in she charged me for two appointments, the one I had that day and the next one that I had no intention of making! I felt like she was trying to secure my business. This is woman is a predator and is out to trap patients and their money. She doesn't care about healing people, just to fluff up her own ego and bank account. After months of searching for an Acupuncturist, I located Dr. Cho who is an in-network provider for my health Insurance carrier. Upon completion of my initial visit, he informed he's not billing Insurance and I would have to pay for my visit out of pocket and seek reimbursement from the insurance company. I thought it to be a little odd but no problem. He swiped my card for $120 and informed he'd email me a receipt. Cool! I received the receipt the following week and immediately submitted it to my insurance company to seek reimbursement less my $25 co-pay. A couple of months go by and I had not received reimbursement. I contacted the Insurance company and was informed the provider (Dr. Cho) billed for treatment and was reimbursed instead. I sent Dr. Cho an email inquiring about reimbursement and he insisted he had not billed for my service and has not been paid. I argued with my insurance company for about a month, filed a Department of Insurance complaint as I'm am owed $95. So finally 4 months later I got a call from an Executive with the insurance company confirming Dr. Cho in fact billed and was reimbursed and he should be the one reimbursing me and Dr. Cho should NOT be requiring contracted patients to pay upfront. Fast forward to today, I receive an email from Dr. Cho offering to reimburse me but at a lower rate than what I'm owed. No sir, you will pay me everything I am owed and not a penny less. He's agreed to reimburse the $95 I am owed. I do plan to have him pursued for Insurance fraud.

What I didn't expect was to feel such immediate relief after my first session. Dr. Wu was a surgeon in China and now provides acupuncture here. How lucky we are! He is not only professional and caring, but it's clear he knows what he's doing when it comes to the human body. I told him the areas of my back that were sore and after a few questions about my pain, he applied the acupuncture needles in the appropriate areas. He explained how acupuncture works, made sure I was comfortable, and left me to relax on the table while the needles did their magic. I have since been back three more times over two weeks and each time my back feels better and better. The office is a clean, comfortable, relaxing space - there are no frills here - it's nothing fancy, but that was exactly what I was looking for. I don't want fancy decor - I want a doctor who knows what he's doing and will alleviate my pain, which is exactly what I'm getting. Each time I arrive for my appointment a room is ready for me so I don't have to wait at all. Dr. Wu asks how I'm feeling and gets right to work. On an administrative note, I am the one who usually calls to schedule the appointments, and even though it never seems like Dr. Wu is writing anything down, he keeps track of everything and hasn't missed an appointment yet! He's also accepts insurance and is easy to work with in that regard.
