I was hopeful that I could at least get an hour, but instead, we were able to get a 2 hour massage at 7:30pm. It was perfectly relaxing, thorough, and deep tissue with hot stones. I could feel the deepness, and yet it was not painful. My husband was overly impressed! The music was tranquil and not too loud. The masseuse could not tell me exactly what was in my massage oil so if you have allergies steer clear. They offer a myriad of different Yoga styled classes, The grocery has grown leaps and bounds( now offering produce boxes, selected meats and more local products). I was so happy to see so many of the familiar products that I would purchase in California and then in Nola, available right here in the bayou. They carry a great selection of grocery and non-grocery products. On a recent visit, I was there to participate in a monthly event called "Heaven and Hell" an artist showcase of musicians, poets, dancers and visual artists. Organizers use one of the many studios for their event. I saw this as the perfect time to pick up the necessary groceries that I needed and enjoyed a family friendly evening of fun. They do however sell artwork everyday by local artists, that is displayed in the main hall and through out the retail area. Who doesn't love a small business that supports the arts?? I still need to attend one of the many cooking demos they host, where a local chef will take you through the steps of creating magic in your own kitchen. I also need to get a massage, who doesn't need a message...right? The staff is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable on classes and products sold.... Someone got back to me promptly and suggested I see Cagney. I was able to book with Cagney for the next day via their website which was very easy to use. Upon arrival I was impressed by the building itself which was a modern, clean and bright space that had multiple businesses inside and clear signage so I found Houma Massage very easily. The ambiance of the Houma Massage was very relaxing with dim lighting and lovely music playing. Cagney was incredible as she listened to my complaints about pain on the left side of my neck and shoulder. I got a 90 minute massage and after felt significantly better, which I've never experienced before. She let me know that she worked out a lot of the knots in the areas with pain and that the rest should undo themselves. The next day I felt 100% better which was really mind blowing. I've gotten tens of massages and I've never felt immediate relief before. Cagney really spent her time on the area and I'm very grateful.
