I was able to check in for my appointment for a blood draw to be followed by an x-ray. I didn't get to sit three minutes and I was called for the blood draw lol. I was not by such a lovely woman who listened when I said I bruise easily and used a butterfly draw to make it easier. Just a prick. Seamless and quick then I walked out to check in for the x-ray where the experience was similar. I hope I can come to this facility again for some future things like mammograms, x-rays, and bloodwork. I would like to permanently break up with Labcorp. Employees here have all been free, friendly and helpful. The quality of care so far has been excellent.

The receptionist said there is anything I can do. I say tell Dr Lacroix that to not refill my Mom'a prescription & to dismiss her in her poor condition is horrible and it is the most uncaring medical office I have ever encountered this situation I believed their was a Doctor's oath. They wanted to have a baseline for all the damage in my back. I do want to say, that when Dr. Netzel turned my pump down, he unmasked additional issues that were being hidden by my morphine pump. Since then, my new pain clinic has identified five additional disc in my back that have failed. Three of those are in my neck. There's also one that's above my fusion, and another below it. My back has been extensively fused from T10 through L5. I don't know what the follow-on fix is going to be for these additional disc as of yet, but they're at least now identified. It frustrates me even more that a doctor in a pain clinic would have the gall to turn down someone's morphine pump without having an accurate, up to date understanding of just what that patient has been going through and what the latest, most up to date information is on the condition of his back. Again, I want to emphasize that the review is based specifically on Dr. Netzel and NOT with regard to the facility or its staff. I found the facility to be very clean, well equipped, and the staff to be very informative and friendly. Had I been assigned to another pain doctor, my experience would probably have been different. I've been using the Medtronic Infusion Pump quite possibly longer than Dr. Netzel has been a doctor, so I'm quite familiar with the system and highly recommend it to anyone who has a significant amount of unrelenting pain. This system does an outstanding job of nearly eliminating your pain while allowing the patient to remain in complete control of their faculties. It's most definitely a better option than having to pop pills throughout your day, every day to keep your pain under control. My pump is set to a higher level than most, however, I suffered a significant amount of damage to my back in that accident. The fact that I'm still able to walk is, in my opinion, a medical miracle. Before I was determined to be eligible for the pump, there were days that the pain would be so debilitating that I had wished that I had become fully paralyzed just to eliminate the majority of the pain. The pump has genuinely given me my life back again. There's sometimes several days that go by where there's no pain at all, especially during the summer months (the pain becomes far more prevalent during the winter). During those periods of time you eventually start questioning yourself as to why you even have this pump, but the first time someone turns it down, you quickly remember exactly why you still have it. True story...every time I had my pump filled, the technician would ask, "on a scale of 1-10" what's your pain level"? I would generally respond with a "ZERO" or "ONE". One day she finally asked, "If your pain is so low, why do you have a pump?", as if it was a trick question. So I responded by simply saying " My pain is a zero because the pump is doing a great job of eliminating it. Without the pump, my score would be way higher, probably a ten." It simply means that the pump is doing exactly what it's designed to do. I'm sure that there's plenty of other patients that haven't had the same luck and success with the pump as I have. I've been extremely fortunate that it's working so well for me. Don't get a pump based solely on my experience. You need to go through the trial process and be honest as to how well it works for you, as this is a huge commitment that includes side effects and multiple refills.

Every once in while you'll get the person who just wants to be helpful and make sure you get what you need, but unforturnately most of the time you get the folks that only seem to want to create barriers. I've had a billing error make the rounds through the insurance system for 9 months on one occasion...for simple bloodwork....a coding error. I call and call and am told that it's taken care of. It wasn't and never did. I ended up paying that extra $50 because I was so sick of having to call them, the lab and the insurance company. That's happened 2x for bloodwork having to do with annual preventative physicals. His current nurse (2019), or the one who always sees me, is the most condescending staff person I've ever experienced. Her tone of voice is almost comical in the way she comes off but she is serious as they come. Too bad. I like Dr. Bud.
