They will try and bully you and not talk to you if you don't do has they say. Do yourself a favor and work for a company who at least shows you some kind of appreciation not bark out orders. I hope Pennstate do something about management and how they handle people who are not like them. 3 staff quit in the same week that's saying a lot about the work environment.

I was a patient of Dr. Nickles for years but had to change doctors when I moved from PA to FL. I…read morepromptly showed up to my appointments and kept my bill paid. As a long-term patient, I would expect a physician to care more about my health than money. However, leaving her practice showed me where her true concerns are. I found a new doctor in Florida and filled out the paperwork to request my medical records. A couple of weeks later I received a letter telling me I had to pay $96 to have my medical records transferred to my new doctor. The letter also noted that Pennsylvania state "allowed" this charge. What I learned with further research is that it is up to the doctors discretion to charge the fee. With the technology of today, medical records can be transferred electronically with little to no cost to the physician. The fact that Dr. Nickles charged this fee (by her own choice, I must add - because PA state does not REQUIRE that she charge this fee) shows me that money is more important than my continued care. I would like to think that if a physician actually cares about the health of her patients, he/she would be more understanding when it comes to matters of getting continued care when a patient moves almost 1,000 miles away. It's really hard to find a good doctor and I wouldn't recommend Dr. Nickles, as she is obviously in the practice for the money, and not because she genuinely cares about her patients.

I was seen by the Stony Brook Family Medicine after hours clinic. The communication and follow up…read morewas very poor. A PA took a medical history from me and listened to my chest and left. She did not discuss anything with me about what she intended to do. A test was ordered and some medication was prescribed, with no discussion with me. That evening I received an automated call saying that the test was not covered by my insurance. I tried to contact someone at the clinic to discuss the test with, but I could not get hold of anyone. The prescribed medication was for symptomatic treatment only, and it is not clear to me how I'm supposed to use it. In summary, almost nothing was done for me, and now my only choice is to start over with another clinic.

My opinion and experience with Stoneybrook: Becky was my doctor here. However, I will never put the…read morewords, "Dr." in front of her name. She took away a resource that me and my dogs needed to live. I left the office that day with no hope of ever getting it back. And there is never any reason not to give a patient hope. But Becky was all about herself. I could have survived without the resource if she would have given me some hope of how to get it back. The day she took it away all her staff did was look at me like a germ in a petri dish. Me and my dog family fell into a black hole of despair for the next few years. We suffered excruciating pain without the resource. 1 of my dogs died as a direct result of losing that resource. Because of her, I have a deep distrust of doctors. Since leaving her office my relations with certain types of doctors have been nothing short of terrible because all I see when I get a new doctor is her face. This all happened 10 years ago. But the pain has not subsided one bit. I have another primary care now who is the complete reverse of what this woman was to me. So I am very lucky in that regard. But God forbid I need another type of doctor, all I do is see her face. I shun most services from specialists. I have a phobia of doctors because of her. She has not said one word to me since she caused me that pain. I actually left a review for her on google and when I did that another patient came and tried to offset my review by telling everyone how phenomenal she is. I got suspicious and googled him and found out he was another type of doctor. I am extremely grateful she is out of my life. But the trauma is horrific. I have learned to live with it because what other choice is there. But if I see her name or her picture it's the same feeling as seeing 100 black snakes. That's the feeling I have. I am in another Wellspan office now and very grateful for having very holistic care for the last 10 years. I am glad I will never have to see her again. I saw she listed "diabetes" as a specialty. Becky, aren't you being absurd? No matter what I say in any review, I could never say anything that would hurt her as much as she hurt me. And yes, I can confirm that when I was there, the ladies at the desk treated the patients like objects to be manipulated at their leisure. --
