His quote,including his mobile fee, was less than all the other quotes for my repairs . I was told I needed a new alternator, tuneup and Possibly a cracked engine block. when he checked the charging system It was fine. The only problem was a loose battery terminal. No alternator was needed, nor a tuneup his only charge was $50 for his visit. He didn't even want to charge me for an oil change. He said everything was fine.come back at 85,000 for the oil change. My Dad did business with them for 30 years and my neighbor purchased her last 2 cars there so I felt safe. I bought a car there less than 3 weeks ago. I am easy to please. A used car is a used car but I never expected to have it break down after 2 days and cost me 600 to fix. I got the car on a Monday afternoon and broke down on Wednesday morning. My battery light came on and I went to advance auto. They put the car on the computer and it said the battery was fine it is a charging issue maybe an alternator. It was not the alternator. I went back to Tadlocks because they were the closest garage to where I was and live. As soon as I walked in the door the lady at the counter looked at me in horror and said. QUOTE " we are very busy" before I even opened my mouth. They were not busy there was one car in the bay and all the other bays were empty. I live near there and since this pandemic they have not been busy or shall I say, they never look busy anymore like in the past. Mind you at this point I was not upset. A used car sometimes has problems. I was also not expecting them to fix it free for this reason. I told her what just happened and in front of me she called advance auto and asked how much an alternator was. I heard them tell her 352. Then she got off the phone and told me. " We don't do that here." The guy that sold the car was not around. I called a mechanic I know and what a mess he found. The lower passenger motor mount was broke there was no upper passenger motor mount and the belt had fallen off because it is somehow attached to all that area. When the car was put into gear it cause the belt to fly off because the broken lower motor mount. He fixed it and discovered The front tire has a huge bubble on the inside so it was not seen when I looked at the car. It has been almost 3 weeks and I still have no plates or registration. Well Sunday my check engine light came on again. This time a worse situation could be at hand I will find out tonight when my mechanic looks at it but the error code says my transaxle something???? that keeps my transmission running properly is going. I do mot have 1000 more dollars to fix a car that I have owned less than a month. Do not get a car here and know if you do and it goes wrong they will not help. She sent me back out knowing I was going to drain the battery and be stuck without help. If they would have checked the car I would have paid the repairs. This morning my battery light was on again telling me the car is not charging. What a rip off. This car was not checked at all or it would have been found. The mechanic found the broken mount in less than a minute. I was shocked when he was able to rock the engine back and forth because it was not mounted down. I will never do business here again 3 strikes your out in my book. Save yourself some stress and stay away.
