To begin with, Shannon was never once on time for an appointment, usually ranging from 5 to 10 minutes late, but once as long as 15. I don't believe she ever once apologized for the lateness. It was especially offensive because I was coming from Cambridge by T, and I always built in enough travel time to be there on schedule. In addition to the lack of timeliness, Shannon was constantly trying to push me off to other therapists. At first, I bought her explanation that she thought I should have someone closer to Cambridge in case of an emergency. But as time went on and the excuses changed, it became downright insulting and unprofessional, especially since the reason I started seeing her in the first place was that the two people closest to me simultaneously ejected me from their lives. I won't profess to know her true reasoning, though I rather think it has to do with issues of her own that she needs to sort out. But I do read people well enough to know that when I asked her about it point-blank, she believed at least part of her own response to be untrue. So to sum up: if you are someone I hate, I highly recommend that you begin seeing Shannon immediately.

I had never had a thai massage before and I was a little bit nervous, but I don't think I ever want a different kind of massage again. Ashley is really personable, easy to be with, and welcoming. She wants you to be comfortable, but also pushes you to your limits (within reason, and as long as you aren't in excruciating pain). I came in to the appointment feeling really tense and kind of sad. After my massage, I left feeling awesome and relaxed. I kind of wanted to stay there and fall sleep. I will definitely be back!

I don't know about the other counselors, but the one we saw asks for a five session commitment after the initial session so some progress can be made.

I don't want to be in a place where I need to use my aggressive side. The staff other staff for some reason focus on helping certain people and completely ignore the needs of others. Most of the other clients agreed that this place is at the bottom of the barrel compared to other institution. I don't want to be in a place where some of the employees think is ok to be aggressive to people when they are at their most vulnerable. I'd give it zero stars if I could.

It is called a health "system," and, indeed, Arbour reeks of an organization that is morally degraded. The staff appear unhappy to a person, and the doctors, case workers, and nurses seem uniformly hardened to the needs of patients. They don't want to be there, nor should you or your loved ones. The state really needs to intervene in some way. The normal placement process most often plays out so that patients and families have no choice over mental health hospitals, however if you do have a choice, then don't choose Arbour.

However, when I specifically state in the original intake that I need to be seen for medication, I would like to be seen relatively soon. Instead, they told me there was a 2 week wait, which I could have forgiven, had they not told me at the end of the two weeks to wait another 2 weeks. They sent this last message through my counselor, and suggested I call my last prescriber, who I had already stated that I did not want to contact. This was something that I also mentioned in my first session in intake as well as with the counselor, but, hey, I guess it's not important unless it's an emergency. I hate to be the kind of person that fakes an emergency, but it seems like you have to if you want to be seen anytime soon.
