After seven years, I feel it is important to share my honest experience with this pediatric office. When my daughter was a newborn, I brought her in because she had a fever and cough. After the medical assistant took her vital signs, she went into another room. I overheard her and others making remarks that made me feel they were making fun of me for bringing my infant in with those symptoms. As a new mother concerned about her baby's health, this was upsetting and left a lasting negative impression. I did not return to the office after that visit. The walls also seem very thin, so conversations can easily be overheard. I hope the office takes patient privacy and compassionate communication seriously. read more

My 2-year-old was given injections that were supposed to be given to my 1-year-old. What makes this even more alarming is that the mistake was only caught when the doctor referred to the child as "this child" and I questioned what she meant. I told her, "What do you mean, this child? I've been holding my one-year-old." The doctor then realized what had happened, dropped the syringes, and immediately ran out to get Dr. Ching. Dr. Ching told us that they would document the incident in the system. We ultimately changed pediatricians because of this experience and the lack of confidence it left us with in their care. What is even more concerning is that when our new pediatrician reviewed my child's records, they could not find the note we were told would be documented about the incident. This was not a minor administrative mistake. Giving the wrong child medication or vaccinations is a serious safety issue, and the fact that the error happened in the first place--and that the documentation we were promised could not later be found--was extremely upsetting. To other parents: please pay close attention during your child's vaccinations and medications. Verify that the correct child is being treated and, if possible, make sure the doctor is present and supervising the process. I would not want another parent to experience what we did. read more

We have been using Chings for a while now but today takes the cake, we were given a follow up appointment for 9/6 at 1:30 we always come to the north office, I arrived 10min early and they couldn't find my appointment because their staff made it for the Fort Apache location. We never go to Fort Apache office, the front office says okay we will see you here. They called us back at 1:30 and we have been sitting here for nearly an hour now, we have yet to see the doctor or anyone. Not anyone coming in to say hey sorry for the delay. Dr Chings Pediatrics has two locations: Craig and Sunset. The Craig location is larger than the Sunset location and is nice, clean, spacious. It has a wonderful Disney theme which is great for kids! The staff are wonderful and very friendly. Dr. Ching herself is very attentive, patient, meticulous in her tasks, and very approachable. The greatest trait that I notice about her is that she takes the time to educate her patients about vaccines, procedures, developmental milestones, etc. She is very patient and never appears rushed. I work in the medical field and I have seen numerous kinds of providers. Dr. Ching is definitely one of the few that I have seen who's really compassionate about her patients and the pediatric population in general. I took my daughter here for two years, and we just moved to another doctor because this office is rude, never return a phone call, it is impossible to talk to the doctor, the waiting time is insane, and you have to be on top of everything because they never call as they promise they will. Avoid this place like the pelage, Today was ,my daughters first time at this office, my daughter went in to get stitches removed, This place is so unprofessional, They did not have the correct supplies ready and at hand, and they didn't even have a stitch removal kit in the office, this kit is so basic it can be bought on Amazon, I know they didn't have it because the doctor said it while struggling to get the 5 stitches out. they didn't even have small kid-size tweezers. They left our door open so everyone and anyone could see what was going on, my poor baby was crying the whole time, which to me is crazy because she has a high pain tolerance, she cried less getting the stitches on and less when she got hurt initially, how is the removal worse?! They didn't have enough sense to advise us to take pain meds prior, and to top it off the doctor ( Dr Ching) was teaching the nurse practitioner the steps well my poor kid was crying. Like what the heck, just do what you need to do, teach her later, maybe ask for permission prior to using my daughter as a lesson. , I would have told you heck NO. read more
