This is a new restaurant on the edge of town. It opened only 5 days ago and is giving 10% discount on take away for the time being. Just note it's currently cash only but there's no sign up to say so.
Imagine the worries of opening a place amid a pandemic with all the uncertainty around so it's takeaway for now. It began as a local restaurant serving Irish breakfast and European food. It went thru a few different styles and when we were last there it was a Turkish restaurant.
We tried two main dishes - a salt & chilli and a black bean, both with fried rice. Sadly it's not wow. It's about on a par with other Chinese takeaways - all of whom are ok to poor. If I were comparing any Chinese takeaway in town with some of the Belfast centre Chinese places then if they were 5 star not one in this town would merit 1 star.
It's so disappointing that time and again we have Chinese food places opening that all charge top line prices and yet always get away with delivering quite poor food.
If this place eventually turns into a sit down restaurant it will have to up its game food wise by a long way - if I got the food I took out tonight while sitting in probably paying another 50% I'd be annoyed and I'd likely walk out. read more
