Who hasn't passed Yong's Wine & Spirits just a step away from Safeway Beretania on one of the busiest corner on Kinau and Piikoi and I thank goodness I haven't given them a visit earlier. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a friendly staff and loved how nice and clean it was, spacious and neatly organized. Here's the place for cravings of all kinds...the variety here is just incredible, though they've been keeping a secret that I just discovered. They have the asian exotic chips that we all have been salty about the bougie lays's and even Oreo! I was in heaven and spent a great amount of time deciding on one...yup one lol! For me, I come for the beer selection. They get a variety of 6-packs, 4-packs, cases, and singles from mostly US breweries. I really appreciate their large selection of local breweries, most of which are available in single cans if you'd like to try a few. Prices are competitive with stores selling similar products. The owners have been super friendly and welcoming to me, both on Instagram and in the store. I appreciated having a few free sample cans to try on more than one occasion. Cheers! I just wish the poke counter was open longer, because I have to come after work and they're often closed before I get there. I can usually find something in the refrigerated section that they pack when the counter closes, but I'm pretty sure the kaimuki located has their poke counter open until much later. I like to come for the poke, I also like the chips and local snacks. The dips and other refrigerated goodies are also good. As for liquor, I've found pretty neat bottles of interesting flavors and brands. They're the only people who sell ever clear (I needed some to make homemade limoncello) and they have a variety of locally made alcohol. The cashiers are efficient, but not always friendly. Prices are reasonable I think. There are usually other people on the store picking up pau hana drinks and snacks. I like that there are little tables outside, but I don't think you can drink out there haha.
