For as long as I been going into Downtown Honolulu, I can't believe I've never wrote-up a review on this garage! I've been parking here for at least a hand full of years, as well as two other municipal parking in the area. Very easy to get here. Located on Bethel Street, both entrance and exit are on the left lane after Island Insurance Company, between N. King & Hotel St.
It's definitely one of the most affordable parkings in Honolulu's CBD. There's also two other Chinatown Municipal Parking, one on S. Beretania & Smith and the other on S. Bererania & Maunakea. The rates for the parking are very reasonable: Mon-Fri 6am-5pm $0.75 each 1/2 hour up to 2 hours, 5pm-midnight and weekends $0.50 each 1/2 hour up to 3 hours. Lost ticket is $21. Different rates for holiday, and special events. It is right across of Walmart, one black Makai of The Hawaii Theatre, also serves parking for Satellite City Hall which is upstairs. Chinatown and Arts District is just a few steps away. It is easily accessible via stairs and other walkways.
Few positives. there are 2 EV charging station stalls, and Security on patrol. Few negatives, on occasion the gate opener and ticket machine tends to break down, narrow parking spaces, P1 has designated more C&C of Honolulu Reserved stalls, so you may find yourself driving down 2 or 3 levels more, and keep your face mask on because of the smells in the stairwell/parking stalls.
If you are parking here at night make sure you are aware of your surroundings, watch your back or walk with a buddy, also they don't take bills larger than $20, read more
