This place is located at the end of the clubbing street in Doncaster. It has stood the test of time…read moreas I remember coming here when I was young. Managers have changed but I swear the food has gotten better. It has the majority of dim sum classic dishes. I will recommend egg tarts, one of the famous dishes you will definitely need to try when eating dim sum. Some eat it as dessert as it is sweet but the great thing about dim sum is you get all the taste bud sensations in one sitting. I also will recommend the beef brisket noodle the meat is succulent fall off the bone texture. Full of flavour and the dish has loads of meat in it. I have to say is one of the best that I have tasted. For 3 people, 7 dim sums and a noodle dish for £35.00 was actually not bad value. The only reason it was not 5 stars is because I feel there is room for improvement in terms of the dark interior.

We have been using The Dragon House for the last 14 years…read more Tonight my daughter ordered a Cantonese set meal for two but that's not what was in the bag when we got it home. The receptionist was obnoxious and unhelpful, she wouldn't put the owner on the phone and then blamed my daughter for ordering the wrong meal, although I was sat next to her and she quite clearly asked for our usual meal! None of the dishes we ended up with were what we would have chosen but still the receptionist would not correct or refund my money. Maybe the Chinese have just hired the wrong person for the front of house and answering the phone job, but we will never go again.

And it is top notch. The best thing about this place though is their jiaozi (commonly called Chinese dumplings, though more like Chinese ravioli I've always thought) and noodle bowls, a bit expensive but you can't get vegetarian ones anywhere else in Sheffield. The only downside to jabu is their opening hours, I think they only open for business after 4 pm meaning no chance of lunch here. It is also normally very busy, which to be honest is great as if this place shut it would be Sheffield's loss.
