The service is wonderful & the staff in there have worked there for years and know their regulars very well. The food is fantastic and the menu extensive. The prices arent cheap but you pay for the quality. In particular i would recomend the sweet & sour spare ribs and the fillet of beef that they do. From the outside i have to admit the restaurant doesnt look fantastic but thats because it hasnt been updated much in its a long history. What this shows is that they have built up a respected base of customers who go there time and time again for the friendly service & fantastic food. It's a lesson in not judging a book by its cover, though, because the food is actually pretty good. In my view, if every plate is clean at the end of a meal, it tells you all you need to know about the food, and this is the case here We were there as part of a large party (19), and had the all-you-can-eat dinner; no-one ordered off the menu, the food arrived and just kept coming. It's fairly standard Chinese fare, but it doesn't have that overly-"chemical" flavour of MSG that puts me off in other places (perhaps that also explains why I ate so much, too....!) The bill worked out at £27/person, which I thought was pretty reasonable considering the number of drinks it included on top of the great food. Certainly worth a visit.

It's located in a heritage building that was once the pavilion for Northampton's long-gone racecourse - home to a blend of horse racing and public hangings - and the dining room offers fantastic views over the park. The food is a blend of Chinese and Thai and the dishes are a good size for the money and of good quality. Soft drinks are decidedly mean in size (ask for tap water if a tiny coke annoys you). The Tom Yum soup is a star performer and the Thai fishcakes are exceptional.
