Authentic Cantonese food It's the best food we've had in UK. Exact the same taste in Cantonread more

Set in the centre of leafy Grappenhall, the Choy Hing Village is an impressive Chinese restaurant…read morewhich is in my top ten favourite places to go. This is my dress-up-in-the-week place and fab for a Thursday evening when the weekend is looming and you want to get in the partying mood. There is muted lighting and Chinese lanterns everywhere and the decor is vibrant red and gold. Choy Hing Village takes customer service to the next level. Before your meal and in-between each course, the waiters provide you with steaming hot hand towels and after your starter, they cleanse your palate with refreshing lemon sorbet- beautiful! The staff are extremely attentive and almost treat you like royalty as they refuse to let you lift a finger to serve yourself. This is nice for a while but you begin too feel slightly ashamed that you are letting another person almost spoon feed you. And the food!!! Mum and I shared the oriental platter which at £9 per head, I thought was a bit steep, even though the chicken skewers and spare ribs were delicious. As a group of three we had sweet and sour chicken, beef satay and the crispy chilli beef which I would encourage all Yelpers out there to try. Choy Hing Village is more than your local Chinese restaurant, it assumes an air of grandeur and you feel almost honoured to be in its presence. We went on a Thursday night and although the majority of the tables were full, this is such a spacious restaurant that diners do not feel crowded at all. Chinese background music adds to the authenticity of the restaurant and you leave feeling happy and relaxed. It is a takeaway to but the experience actually dining here is too nice to miss. Expect to pay approximately £20 per head here and to have a good time.

Wow! Thats the…read morefirst world that springs to mind, and is by far THE BEST Chinese Restaurant I have been to bar none. When first seeing the outside of the building you are greeted with a oriental themed front, with an overhanding roof and two guard lions outside. Once through the double doors you come across a cozy layout, with roughly 8-10 tables of varying sizes. Not a huge place the layout used to comply with a local public house, however the decor is great with glowing red windows (obviously behind a fake wall) and great decoration throughout. Seating is ample and the ambiance isn't overpowering. Service Is great, the people are helpful and attentive without being too nosy or prying... which on occasion is a fine balance. Drinks were offered as soon as we sat down and menus handed out without a fuss. Food This is sit down buffet style menu though please don't be put off with the word 'buffet'. Your meals are all freshly prepared and served to you as you would a traditional restaurant. For £13.95 per head you get ample choice of starters and main courses. Myself I have tried almost everything on the menu (not in one visit!) and I absolutely love: Crispy Seaweed (Fried cabbage usually) Barbecue Ribs Salt and Chilli Ribs - vegetarian option - the vegetable mix with lettuce wrap. Oh and the soups are great too: The Crab meat and sweetcorn soup is my fav Main courses are all what you would expect with the addition of Thia Cuisine too. Again I loved: Garlic and Chilli King Prawns with Egg Fried Rice ( Prawns are butterflied) In conclusion if your in the area this is a great place to go and well worth a visit! p.s. limited parking at the front, otherwise parking is on the street which can be busy at times.

It's our…read morefamilies 'go to' Chinese takeaway (I'm really sorry Mrs Lee at Davenham's Sun Ho - I love your special fried rice - please forgive me). It's small, family owned and consistent. Consistently brilliant. Our usual order is as follows: (feeds 3 adults and one bottomless-pit Brother) - Sweet and Sour Chicken; it's honestly the best I've had anywhere. Ever - Char Sui Roast Pork; again, amazing - Soft noodles; with bean sprouts and onion - 2 Egg Fried Rice or 1 Chicken/other meat Fried Rice; Tasty, non-greasy - Prawn Crackers - and one other main dish that we choose at random The family/staff who work here are friendly and super organised; when you arrive for collection (they don't deliver) the orders are spread in a fan over a silver tray - they know exactly which docket to choose from the delicately arranged pile, they pop into the kitchen and out with a bag of take-out-container filled joy. You can also opt to eat in. The restaurant is fairly small but the service is exceptional and the food is wonderful regardless of where you eat it. Car parking can be a little tricky at busy times. It's just off the main road with the car spaces in front. It's tight squeeze to manoeuvre if you're wedged in nearest the house. Also, watch out for the sneaky traffic light camera as you approach. But hey, even if you do get flashed on your way to mouthfuls of heaven - you're the real winner here.

Like all the other reviews I cannot praise this place highly enough…read more A tasty, tidy, friendly & reasonably priced restaurant, that never fails to impress in its quality of food. When you compare it to 90% of its competitors it wins hands down every time! actually make that 98%!! We even tried somewhere else nearby when they were shut and all we can say is, we swore never again!
