Called for chimney service and got a prompt response. Set up an appointment for the next day. Two man crew arrived at the agreed upon time. They did a great job of cleaning my flue and wood stove box. They also made sure the room was cleaned of any dirt or dust from their work on the flue. The pricing was reasonable as well. Sean claims to be an honest person over the phone. He showed up at my house and asked for a cash deposit. Sean worked hard to sell me product I don't need all the while not even looking at the chimney. He drove off without giving me a price estimate, called the next day with a price. When I asked him for a contract, he got nervous and claimed the deal was not going to work and hung up the phone. I'M OUT OF MY CASH DEPOSIT OF $366. Good thing I never gave the $500 he requested. He was the most difficult workman we have ever dealt with. But I was shocked recently to hear from a company now replacing our roof that he did extraordinary work. He put copper flashing around our roof that added a terrific note to our exterior design. Every piece of copper was individually measured and the cut and bent to size. Our current roofer instructed his crew in front of me to be careful of his flashing around the chimney so they didn't disrupt the work that was strikingly well done. He said that slow one tile at a time work must have driven him nuts. I told the current roofer that maybe that explained it taking 3-4 months longer to finish the job than he estimated and his swearing at us off and on sometimes in front of minors, stamping off angry at times, not arriving on days he said he would, or at all for weeks. Unfortunately I didn't dig deeper into past reviews just a month, a year and as far back as 6 yrs ago which all have the same thread --- This Guy is A SCAM!!! At First, he did respond to schedule an appointment right away and appeared to be thorough hence our Giving the Review 4wks ago, yet You'll Note I Didn't Select ON TIME because HE WAS GROSSLY LATE but I wasn't trying to give negative to a small buisness, but later seeing this is his norm, if he even ever shows up, according to other reviews. And after supposedly cleaning even with a shop vac at my hearth, his attention to details is extremely lacking leaving obvious soot and pieces of creosote/ash that should have been vacuumed up for the money he was paid which included that. The lateness and lack of quality in cleanup can be tolerated a little--- BUT When There Is A PRE-PAY for an item (spark guard) including installation AND He DOESN'T DELIVER BUT TAKES AND CASHES YOUR CHECK AND regarding the agreement to have it installed in one week, DOESN'T TOUCH BACK WITH YOU, That's A HUGE PROBLEM!!! He claims to have all the materials and make the spark guard at his shop and requires $100 up front. Trying to be patient we finally try to reach him almost two weeks later he claims not to have forgotten and it'll be at least another week or so. We explain not our agreement and needed it installed within next five days, before Saturday HE BECOMES BELLIGERENT and UNPROFESSIONAL stating he'll return the $100 and we agree. THAT WAS MAY 23rd - 3 weeks ago. NOW HE IS IGNORING our CALLS AND HASN'T RETURNED OUR MONEY! MR. Smith per Him "call him - Shorty" More like Smith... Shorty uhmm No SHADY!!!! This guy apparently is a bubble off. He shows up almost two hours later than the time that HE made the appointment (which he says nothing about when he finally arrives). Then gets his equipment out, takes a look inside and then up on top. He then marches off saying we owed him money from "some work he did many years ago" and packs up and leaves. Never happened. We would never do this and hadn't known this guy from Adam until this year when my husband can't clean our chimney any more due to health reasons. Steer clear of this nutty one. read more
