Last night we ordered from Chimento's a medium pizza with pepperoni on it. When we opened the box we found that the pepperoni was not distributed on the entire pizza some pieces had a bunch and other pieces didn't have any and that the cheese had slipped down so one side of the pizza had more cheese then the other. We went to cut it because it wasn't cut all the way through and saw that the crust was not fully cooked. We had to put it back in our oven to cook it a little more. It looked like when it was taken out of the oven it slid and no one caught it. Once we cooked it more it was good. We might give them another chance before writing them off. read more

3.5 stars!!! New to St. Cloud and I can see this being one of my regular dinner spots. The pros? -Outstanding service. It was a little weird ordering food at the counter and then sitting and having a waitress for the second half but I will say, our waitress was TOP NOTCH -Prices are great. -Salad dressing is homemade. FINALLY! A place w/ homemade salad dressing! A little touch that goes a LONG way! -Garlic butter made in house is good. The bread is also made there. It's like a pizza dough/crust. It's dense but soft. Though I wish they didn't serve it cold. Toasted or warmed would be great. -The cannoli tasted just like when I used to buy them in NY. ON POINT! I ordered the chicken parm and to be honest I won't order it again. The breadcrumb/coating wasn't crispy and it had an old stale breadcrumb taste. However, the other dishes we ordered were great. I was very excited to try this place out for the 1st time since it was recommended to me by a friend so naturally, I was very disappointed by the subpar treatment we received when we walked in. We walked in around 2pm on a Friday. There were 2 other families seated & being waited on. There was noone else in the restaurant except about 8 employees. We weren't greeted so we helped ourselves to menus & sat down. Many of the employees made eye contact with us however, not a single one approached us. They just kept serving & very pleasantLy assisting the other 2 families. After waiting about 10-15 more minutes too long, we just decided to get up and leave. I will never visit this place or tell anyone it even exists. Such a disappointing experience. Obviously, we took our business & appetites elsewhere. read more

This was my 1st visit to Chimento's the interior is clean except for the AC vents in the ceiling. The staff is friendly . Lunch is $11-18 with drink which is high . All the prices are based on base products so every ingredient is extra. I had a Steak and Cheese Sub it was good. The garlic butter and bread were good, the bread was not warmed. It seems busy I will probably try it again sometime. It is about $4 more for dinner prices. read more

After two other lunch spots on our route didn't work out ( one was closed, the other cash only), we ventured further into town. Found this little place on Yelp. Not fancy, but super friendly and the food fresh and very good. We had lunch and it was very reasonable. The owner took our order and explained the different items. I had chicken parmigiana. Lots of cheese!! Cooked perfectly. My husband had a calzone and loved it! It must be a local favorite as everyone knew everyone. Would come back here for sure!! read more

Very disappointing. We should have been deterred by the fact that it looks nothing like an Italian restaurant, and is in the middle of a strip mall. We gave it a chance anyway, which proved to be a poor decision. There were a good amount of people there which fooled us in thinking the food must be good. We waited to be seated, only to get strange looks from the customers, to which an employee then told us we order at the counter. There was a menu sign to order from...like McDonalds... with options such as "spaghetti and beans"... um what? Slow service, bread was cold, salad was soggy, calzone had a ridiculous amount of ricotta, and my boyfriend's lasagna looked nothing like lasagna. I'm not sure what was in those meatballs, but they didn't taste like meatballs! We gave it a chance, but I'll never be back. Olive Garden is more Italian than this, heck Pizza Hut. If you eat here and don't like it I'm not sure what could be wrong with you. Everything they make is amazing. I have been eating here since I could chew solid foods - and my parents before me. All meals come with the best fresh bread and garlic butter. Their salad dressing became so popular that some years ago they started bottling it and selling it separately to take home. My usual there is a pizza roll and a salad with extra dressing. Dip the bread in the dressing and the pizza roll in the sauce served with it on the side = success. And now I'm hungry for Chimento's. read more

So I've been going to Chimento's since I was a kid. It's literally one of my favorite places to eat in st.cloud but since Jimmy has sold I have to say the place has gone down hill fast. I definitely knew it would take some time for new owners to adjust so we kept going but every time I go it keeps getting worse not better. Last time I went ALL the employees were extremely unwelcoming/rude. Not a single hello how are you or thanks for coming. Not one!!!! Tell me how an owner can be at the food counter and not say hello to the customer, how someone can check me out and now say hello ? Unbelievably rude in my opinion. To top it off Food was just ok. Tonight's order was delivered by door dash (lovely dasher) but the chicken was burnt , extra sauce added on top of my pepperoni roll (first time ever) which I didn't add and definitely was doughy/under cooked and is no longer the same sauce that jimmy used. 2 of Our desserts were put in upside down in the brown bag so that's on the restaurant but after all 3 of us ate it we all agreed not very good food. This is a restaurant we used to visit almost weekly as a family and after the past few visit we can say it's now a restaurant we will no longer go to because of rude service and food quality inconsistency. I want to support a small business but it's very clear it's not getting better and the new owners don't care that people CHOSE to spend their money at their restaurant this is made clear when you serve clearly BURNT food because it's door dashed so I won't see it until it's to late. Maybe the employees should also take lessons on how to be friendly and pretend they care that a customer is there and spending their money. we won't be back. read more

Was taking my wife for a nice Italian dinner for an early Valentine's Day dinner but her fav Bela Dinapoli was closed for family emergency. So we went here. Bread was plentiful and delicious but main course had grocery store square cheese melted on it. Overall it was underwhelming. It's not a real Italian joint. Place was clean and waitress was great. ZERO STARS We ate here today for the first time after the new owners took over. It went from 5 stars to 0. It used to be a great place to eat. There were very subtle differences that were made, that are easily discernible. The blue lives banner that hung from the window was no longer there. The meatballs were not as tender as they used to be. The sauce was a bit off, not to mention there used to be Italian music playing in the restaurant. I don't understand why this place is so highly rated, but worth a visit for the weird building. I got pasta fagioli since they didn't have red sauce and I'm a vegetarian - seriously, no red sauce in an Italian restaurant? Nothing to write home about, but hit the spot. Just got home from my first time eating there on my husband's birthday, and I am disappointed. First of all it's not a typical restaurant where you have a menu and a waiter/waitress. You order at the counter when you walk in, you pay, and then you go sit down. (like fast food). The food was brought out to the table, but that's the last time you see that person. We did leave a tip on the table but I'm pretty sure we weren't expected to. (They also bring the food to the table at Bojangles or Whataburger and you don't tip there.) The decor is pretty bad, wallpaper border peeling up all over the place, weird paint stains with old pic over them. The place looks really old and it probably has been there a very long time. It was very clean, and I can totally forgive everything else if the food had been good, but unfortunately the food was the worst part. The salad was OK. The bread was 2 plain sticks of Italian bread (shaped like a hotdog bun but it was bread) and some plain butter or margarine for spread. (there was no garlic spread as somebody else put in a review). The bread didnt have much taste. My husband ordered the lasagna and meatball dinner. He said his lasagna was a tasteless square block of ricotta cheese with pasta and some cheese melted on it, there was zero meat or sauce in it and it had no taste. The only meat was the 2 meatballs on the side and they were OK. (Neither of us ever had lasagna before with no meat, unless it as vegetarian. I guess the meatballs were the meat). I had the Eggplant Parmesan dinner. It tasted salty and had an excessive amount of mozzarella melted over it. I'm not sure what was under all that cheese, it didnt taste very good.. My husband tasted mine and he said he tasted eggplant but I didn't. The tough and dry noodles had a small blob of plain sauce on top but the sauce didn't have much taste either. overall we left saying 'wont be going back'. Also I'd like to add that the prices were not cheap. I had water and our total bill was around $30 plus we left a tip. When we first went in I noticed that the posted prices were higher than their website menu, guess they need to update that. read more

Jimmy and Linda Chimento have owned this mom and pop stop for decades, and it's a family favorite in the heart of St. Cloud. If you're looking for authentic Italian, this isn't for you. If you're looking for delicious American-Italian fare, look no further. The salads and salad dressings are amazing, they make the bread and garlic butter fresh daily, and there is something for everyone. I'm especially fond of the chicken salad, the Peas and Pasta Alfredo, the antipasto, the meatball sub, and the ravioli and meatballs. Make plans on a weekday, because they're closed on the weekend. Mr. Chimento is very friendly and always goes out of his way to make sure everything is ok and you are being taken care of. This restaurant is in no way Italian. The watered down ketchup they call spaghetti sauce was the worst. The older woman working the counter at the time I went there, had a steady expression of pure bitch on her face. When I was placing my order at the counter, instead of at my table, I saw what I'm guessing was the owner yelling to his employees that he does not want them talking to each other. He said that they are here to work, not to talk. My impression of him was true asshole. I ate at this place once. And have never recommend it to anyone. Fantastic place to eat....location is in Downtown St Cloud Fl on New York ...The Bread and Garlic butter is a required staple. Everything here is great....Jimmy and his wife do an excellent job of making you feel at home here.....casual dining, and dont worry about parking ..if the lots full you can always park on New York street ....i have multiple favorite meals to recommend....try them all. read more
