While on the estimate call, they were knowledgeable and helpful. We thought we needed a new hot water heater and it turns out, a setting was wrong. He made a quick change, presented options in case that wasn't the issue, and we never felt pressured. I had a hot bath today because of his honesty and we'll actually be calling them back for a larger reno job soon that we didn't even speak to them about today. I'll also add that they said they could install a new water heater today if needed. I saw other reviews about response time and our experience with them was excellent today. Perhaps they have a system in place and have corrected issues if there was one in the past. Thankful for honesty, great communication / follow through, and quick response time.

He IS very accessible, returning calls and texts quickly - even now, whenever I have questions. You have a wonderful crew working for you. Everyone was on-time, friendly, efficient and aware of certain things I required when coming and going from the house. Namely, keeping certain doors closed at all times so the dog and/or the toddler wouldn't be able to sneak out and escape! My only suggestion would be to keep household objects covered with tarp or plastic during the whole job. Not just when there's sawing or 'messy work' going on. If it's a room where there will be a lot of foot traffic the floor cloth is good, but plastic over furniture etc would be a great help when it comes to us cleaning up afterwards. However, the guys did great given that I didn't insist things be covered more often. Yes, I would use Hill & Co. again.

Very disappointed with my experience with Hill & Company…read more I purchased my HVAC system and water heater from Hill & Company, and I have also had annual maintenance performed by the company. Because of that history, I trusted that these systems were being properly inspected and maintained. I am now selling my home, and the buyer's inspection identified several HVAC-related issues, including disconnected ductwork in the attic and concerns regarding the venting of the water heater and furnace. What is especially frustrating is that these issues were not identified during the annual maintenance visits. I am now dealing with repairs during the sale of my home and additional unexpected expenses. I contacted Hill & Company about the disconnected ductwork and was quoted $700 to repair it. Given that this is part of a system purchased from Hill & Company and maintained by them annually, I expected a much better explanation of how this condition was missed. I am extremely disappointed with the quality of the maintenance and the way this situation has been handled. When you pay a company to install and maintain your HVAC equipment year after year, you expect problems like these to be identified before they become an issue during a home sale. I hope Hill & Company takes this feedback seriously and reviews how their technicians are performing these annual inspections.

He was scheduled to fix our residential AC unit that had frozen up and wasn't cooling. He diagnosed…read moreit as needing 6 lbs of refrigerant at $542/lb, plus a new capacitor, plus a $125 service call--an advertised total of $3,800+. I told him I didn't believe that was the real problem and that the pricing was outrageous. I didn't approve the work. I had my own AC guy check the unit, and we found the system already had refrigerant--the real issue was that the compressor was failing. So his "fix" was basically a costly wrong diagnosis. He was trying to charge us $3,800+ to "repair" something that wasn't actually causing the failure, and the AC would still have ended up failing anyway. Be careful with this company. They will push expensive repairs and give diagnoses that don't match what the system is actually doing. Get a second opinion before you approve anything.

I recently used this HVAC company for a service call and unfortunately had a disappointing…read moreexperience. Before the work was performed, I was told the service call is $125. It would cost $235 total. However, after the work was completed, the $125 service fee was added on top, bringing the total to around $360. This charge was not clearly explained upfront, which is my main concern. The work itself involved cleaning a drain line, which the technician described as a relatively straightforward task. The technician explain he would be using a brush to clean it so the pricing was super excessive for the scope of work performed. More importantly, there was a lack of transparency regarding the total cost before the work was completed. Clear communication about pricing is critical when customers are making decisions about whether to proceed with a service. Because of this experience, I do not recommend this company. I would recommend that they improve their upfront communication of full costs to better align with customer expectations and build trust. I also found the company's response to my concerns to be disappointing, as it was not customer‑focused or aimed at resolving the issue. Instead, it appeared centered on defending pricing rather than addressing the lack of clear communication.
