They didn't put insert back correctly and didn't clean the stove chimney well enough to prevent a chimney fire

They have a nice selection in store, everyone was very nice, and I would recommend checking them…read moreout for a purchase. But I would recommend a non-anesthetized dental procedure over using them for installation. My install took 2.5 months. At the first installation date, the crew showed up with the wrong part, were unable to begin work. AFS blamed their order source and didn't take any responsibility for checking that the parts were right before my install date. But, even if they *had* brought the right parts, they hadn't brought the full crew they needed to connect the gas line. The seller apologized and said he wouldn't charge more than the initial quote after all of the issues. A month later, for my second install date, things did not go more smoothly. Neither the stove crew or gas crew called or showed up. (Who knows if they had the right part by now? Does a tree falling in the empty woods make a noise?) I had to call the seller myself to ask what was happening, and he promised me a discount for my trouble, and we rescheduled again for after the holidays. When I was purchasing my stove, I was repeatedly assured that an internal gas line could be run through the wall without cutting out parts of the drywall. The home inspector had checked it out and showed me the easiest spot for an install. So imagine my surprise and disappointment on the third install attempt when the workers tell me they need to cut a series of holes in my walls. When talking amongst themselves, they said this was because they didn't have a 90 degree drill bit with them. (A piece of equipment that costs $30 at Home Depot, a 10 minute drive away). I was so tired of waiting and taking days off of work that I just gave in. I let them cut holes in my walls so that this would finally be done. I patched, sanded and painted those walls myself, because of course, repairing that was not a part of the installation estimate. I figured, hey, this is going to be a serious discount after all of this, so there is a silver lining. Wrong parts! No calls/no shows! Rescheduling twice! Install gone wrong! But I was dealing with an honest, local company, where everyone seemed so nice. Imagine my surprise when I got an invoice for the full original estimate. When I asked what happened, the seller stated that the install was more expensive than he had planned, so that was the discount -- the full price. (Lol, what?) When I followed up with him a second time, he gave me 2% off. And like the holes in the wall, I just gave up. The stove itself looks nice. And if I were to install something again, I would work with another company. #SupportLocalBusiness #JustMaybeNotThisOne
