Our party of four came in on a Thursday at around 8 pm when we were looking for a sit down spot…read moreclose to our hotel. Animo ay caldos is more modern Mexican and they have all sorts of things on the menu (including birria ramen, to our surprise). It's almost like a diner. There's probably something for everyone. I ordered the quesabirria tacos, which were fine. I was a little disappointed that it didn't come with some broth to dip it in. My husband had the combo burrito + soup of the day. He went with the Al pastor. This was our first time trying a burrito in Mexico, which I found out is more of a Tex Mex or Cali thing. They're more like quesadillas here, and not the massive packed tortillas in the U.S. The soup of the day was just meh. It had udon, zucchini (?), and cubes of cheese. It was like they just threw in whatever leftovers they had from the previous night into a pot. Would probably skip and get some tacos from a cart or something. It will be cheaper and much more delicious.

We found this place as we were looking for a Japanese/Mexican fusion restaurant and this is one…read morethat came up that was close by. Average food, though it did have potential, but definitely still lacked flavor and definitely missed any "wow" factor. Luckily we didn't have the same situation from the prior reviewer, but the actual ratings to us where still not that much higher (aside from now getting food poising and not being able to stop puking) Ambiance/Service: Very casual restaurant with good service and a walk up order style eating. Food/Drinks: We just had a pepsi here, so nothing special on drinks, but as far as food, we had the birriaramen, which was pretty good (blend between pozole and asian ramen). You also need to like the flavor of goat in order to enjoy the dish as it did have quite a bit of it. We had the Chicken taco, the Kayle poblano taco, and the red beef taco. The chicken taco in my opinion was the best, the others were good but a little watery and hard to eat and not enough stuffing Do not feel the need to go back here again, and wouldn't recommend as there are a lot of better places.
