My child doesn't go to that school anymore. Looking back, I wish I hadn't kept her there for so…read morelong. Right from the start of school, there were some major issues - not enough teachers, the school director wasn't on top of things, and the school was all over the place. While my child was there for about a year and a half (I didn't have other choices at the time), she went through a lot of things that I thought were really not okay. The teachers always had excuses that didn't really make sense. What really upset me was when my child came home with marks one day. She had marks that looked like they were from an adult's nails, but they said it could have been from a bush or another kid's hand. I had already talked to the state about problems before, but I didn't see any improvements. The school director and the person in charge of the area just gave me excuses. Nothing worse than your child lifting their arm and saying "dada ouch, dada ouch" over and over. Because of what she went through from the start, my child started biting as a way to protect herself from all the bad stuff. I had cameras on her all day, so I know how often it happened. But the teachers didn't seem to notice as usual. After an investigation, they kicked my child out for biting. On that same day, we got a call from a much better school nearby. Since she moved there, my child is doing so much better - learning more, talking and signing better. I really think the old school and its staff were holding her back. If I could rate that place, I'd give it a 0 for all the awful stuff we had to deal with. Do your child a favor and stay away from here.

I do not recommend this daycare. I enrolled my son here a week ago today on the facts that it was…read morein close proximity to my home and that it opened at 6. My son has been bitten twice by the same child and there seems to be no consequences to the biter. When I arrived to pick up my child after the second time he was bitten, a staff member merely told me that the director wanted to speak with me. She didn't tell me anything about the bite; I had to hear it from the director, who was very nonchalant about the ordeal. I told her that other facilities take biting seriously. I tried to remain calm. When bathing my son, I got to look at his injuries. This is unacceptable! I was in tears. My baby was badly bitten and I should have been called to be made aware of the incident and the teacher should have told me when I arrived. Trash. They also have the tv on for hours! The director told me when I asked about the tv's, "it's only on at drop off and pick up for a little". I came to find out for myself and also from a staff member that the tv is on from 6AM through breakfast (8Am) and around drop off (4:30-close). I am not paying this place to poison my child with tv! Awful. There seems to be no curriculum in place, they accept cash or check which is super shady, their facility is small and their staff is smaller. Their staff don't even seem to enjoy working there. They aren't friendly, don't greet you when you come in, and don't approach you to tell you about your kid's day. At drop off, they're watching the tv with the kids. I wish I could get a refund for this wasted money. I do believe they charged me too much initially but was told they'd "get back to me" on a refund. I'm glad a spot opened up at JBSA Lackland for my son. Oh and their gates are unlocked...who knows if kids could easily escape. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I rebuke my last review!!…read more I do not recommend sending any two year old here, for a Christian School the behavior of the kids biting have no consequences and never take action. They continue to let the children bite innocent children that have no say because they are too young to express the hurt. But as long as they get their weekly pay that's all that matters to this childcare facility! Greed is not running a good business when children are being bit ... 4 bites in 5 days ... that's what has been happening to my grandson... since being here he's been bitten 18+ times!!! What would you do when as a single mom that has to keep her child in daycare???

Her teachers have been great and always provide updates on how her day went. You do need an app to unlock the front and back door which gave us a great sense of security and there are observation windows outside the infant classrooms and classroom cams in the lobby in case you want to check on you kiddo without any disruption. There is also an app where we were provided updates, when our daughter was fed, changed and any learning activities for that day/week (along with pictures)!! I can't say enough great things about Pillars on Reed road and I wish we didnt have to leave but so happy that we were able to enroll our little for the short remaining time we have left here.

They left two children outside in the Texas heat. bc they forgot about them not being responsible & doing head count. Mr. Austin kissed my 5 year old on her cheek which is 100% inappropriate and who the heck does that. The daycare did nothing. I called Cps but they did nothing either. My 2 year old came home with nail marks under his arm and yet no one knew anything and couldn't give me an answer about who did it. Teachers don't last here at all. A new teacher every two weeks & the ones they hire think their baby sitting. One teacher didn't like changing pampers. That same teacher kicked a 2 year olds cot while he was sleep & when asked about he said he was trying to wake the child up. That same teacher was constantly seen on his phone & when I reported It. They said they had a talk w him. That same teacher left the kids unsupervised during nap to go into the restroom for a full 8 minutes bc I watched & also immediately complained. But the director made excuses again. I'm in the middle of transferring my child I dont Trust these people. They constantly call about having to pick up my child bc they see a red bumps that "may be HFM". When I get My child there's absolutely no bumps. It's been stressful. Their breakfast sucks. It'll be like a banana and dry cheerios. That's it. Or a bagel alone.the director lies always trying to find a way to make him get the heat instead of owning up and taking accountability. When you watch on the camera the kids are always crying and the teacher always passes by them ignoring them not even comforting them. They claim we are past due on a balance n my kid can't return but yet when I ask For an invoice of how they are getting a total of $411 no one knows. When it was all said and done and had to go receipt by receipt turns out it was only $100 in late pick ups over the months that they didn't tell me about. They are unprofessional. Inconsiderate and inconsistent. Save yourself the headache and don't trust these people w your children. They hire babysitters. My son been there since he was 11 months and now he's 2. They would ignore me on the daycare app. When I would see my child running w no shoes or socks. When I would pick him up another teacher told me "girl they let him run outside w no shoes" when I saw my sons feet when we left the daycare he had cuts from mulch on the bottom. And never would return his socks. He would come home in other peoples pampers. The wipes I'd take would be gone in 2 days from using yhem on everyone. Smh It's went down hill since. The whole daycare needs a new staff

She's ready to move on all because La Petite loved on her, grew on her, and helped teach her what she needs to know. I don't even have a favorite teacher because they're all great teachers, directors included. As a whole, they really care and that means so much coming from a single parent that never had to worry about my child's safety and intelligence dropping her off every morning at this location just so I can make it. I wish I could keep it this way next year but since kindergarten is calling, I hope this review stands out to other potential parents looking for a safe place for their child/children.

This school pours love into their students and treats my kids like one of their own. The lessons…read morethey instill in our kids complement what we teach at home. RPA is like homeschooling on steroids. The kids get a concentrated education, learn more than they ever would in public school and are free from distractions and bad behavior. One of the reasons we didn't want our kids going to public school is the lack of parental accountability for children's discipline and behavior. I love that RPA recognizes kids have bad days but does not tolerate ongoing discipline issues that distract from the classroom and influence other kids to behave the same way. The parents have built a unique community and often spend time together on the playground after school while the kids play. It is Little House on the Prarie meets modern-day San Antonio.

I've hesitated to write this review for some time, but after seeing recent allegations against the…read moreschool, I feel it is important to share my experience. While our first year was smooth, the second year revealed systemic issues in how the school is managed and how they are dismissive serious student concerns. There were 4 primary areas of concern that led to me pulling my child from this school- Inappropriate Spiritual Guidance: My child was told by the Pastor's wife that if he wasn't a "good kid," his heart would become "dirty" and he would die. Using fear and mortality as a disciplinary tool for a young child is spiritually and emotionally damaging. Academic Management: Despite a very small class size of only six students, a significant amount of classwork was consistently sent home for me to supervise and correct. I was told this was to prevent him from losing recess which i didn't agree with at all , but with a 6:1 student to teacher ratio, I expected the educator to be able to manage individual student progress and corrections during school hours. Response to Bias : One of the most upsetting incidents involved a student telling my son to "go back to his country." When I requested a meeting to discuss how the school promotes an inclusive environment, the response from leadership was dismissive. Instead of addressing the harm caused, the Principal stated they "don't talk about race" and her dad/ the Pastor of the church on campus proceeded to share a tone-deaf anecdote about owning an "Aunt Jemima" cookie jar and not understanding why a visitor found it offensive. Lastly, My child was not served lunch one day and went the entire day with only a snack. When questioned, the teacher blamed my son for "not speaking up." He later told me he was too embarrassed to ask because the teacher had been threatening the class all week that they "wouldn't get pizza" if they didn't behave. Using food as a bargaining chip or threat is cruel. Lack of Accountability: When I informed the Principal we were leaving, there was no concern for my childs well-being or the reasons for our departure. The immediate response was that "per the handbook, tuition is still due for two months." It became clear that the administration and faculty --which is heavily insulated by family ties--is not at all equipped to handle modern social dynamics or provide a supportive, inclusive atmosphere. Issues are swept under the rug rather than addressed with the transparency and growth one would expect from an educational institution.

This was my first time putting my child in any type of child care since she had been born and this was a terrible experience. I thought that because I paid out of pocket that I can trust that these people actually cared about the well being of children and not just money but this is far from the truth. The office staff is always lounging eating by the front while the teachers seem to be busting their butts in the classroom. The director never even called me to explain or even apologize on the lack of communication based on THEIR part. They make you do a $300 enrollment/app/ and supplies when you first enroll.
