As a parent, the #1 thing you care about when your kid is at daycare is that they are safe. #2 is that they are having fun. My son loved this school so much that often when I would pick him up, he didn't want to leave. My son exceled on so many things since starting this school - at 3 years old he can write every letter of the Alphabet and even say all of his colors and numbers in Spanish! But most of all, my son who used to be painfully shy is one of the most outgoing and social 3 year old I know. I have all of his amazing teachers to thank for this. This school is more then just a daycare, you are treating like family. Again, my son started at 18 months in the room the "strawberries" - which was a great first room for him. He's been in 2 other classes since, and has had nothing but fantastic teachers along the way. We are leaving Goddard to go into our towns public school and we are heartbroken to leave but we are so grateful to have made the memories and friends we made along the way. We will forever remember our Goddard family.

She…read morewas "shocked" to learn that I had concerns about the lack of consistency in classrooms and teachers, although I had explicitly discussed this with the director. I have also spoken with other parents who told me that they have brought this concern to the director as well. I should clarify that it has been 13 teachers and 5 classrooms in two and a half years, not three. Of those 13 teachers, only 4 are still employed by Lightbridge. Additionally, the owner proudly told me that they have an average tenure of 1 to 2 years for teachers, which strongly highlights a management issue. While the director "reinforced" to me that she had wonderful relationships with the teachers, it does not change the fact that I have had teachers cry to me in the parking lot of the school about the lack of respect from the administration. The teachers spend all day, every day with these children and have strong relationships with the parents. The administration is completely out of touch with their staff and the parents if anything in my review surprises them.

As parent... I can't suggest enough that you find another day care for your kids. My son came home…read morefilthy covered in his food from lunch all over his face and shirt ruining his clothes. He'd also come home with bites and scratches almost everyday. He also got a case of hand foot and mouth because the admin doesn't send the kids who have it home allowing the disease to spread like a plague in the classroom. The classrooms are over filled with only 2 or 3 teachers handling 20+ kids leaving many unsupervised. I've also seen how rude and disrespectful the admin, especially the director Tina is to the staff. Talking down to teachers in front of parents seemingly almost every time I see her. So I suggest you never leave your child in this dangerous, incompetently run environment if you actually love them.

We are sooo thrilled that we were recommended to check out this school for our preschoolers. We started our oldest here at 25 months old and they completely changed her life (and ours). In just the first year, she went from speaking 1 word, to reciting the entire alphabet, counting 1-13 out loud, reading words on signs (and wherever we go), also counting by 10's, AND she can name every shape. This all happened in a few short months after nearly being a silent child. Our daughter was once scared to leave our sides and now she also shows an incredible amount of confidence in herself. She also completes simple tasks such as putting on her socks, shoes, jackets, gloves and hats. I love that this school is a traditional and Montesorri hybrid, it's the perfect school. Most importantly, the owner of the school Holly is just the SWEETEST person. The teachers are INCREDIBLY kind, caring and warm. They are always willing to help, be flexible, and everything is communicated flawlessly. I know that this was not an easy task with Covid, yet they managed Covid perfectly and kept us all happy and healthy! Also, emails and texts are super clear and Holly does a fantastic job keeping us all updated with fun events and anything we need to know. She truly cares about safety, and also the happiness of each child and family. Can't say enough great things! So happy!

Ms. Holly and staff are absolutely the BEST! They treat our children like their own and will have all 3 of my children go through A Step Ahead Preschool. There are also tons of opportunities, they keep growing! They're weak in the sense that they seem to be strapped for cash and offer super low rates to temp/one-off nanny's. You can expect that if someone is comfortable with the following rates, they really needed the money. I really needed the money myself before. For example: temp postings are $20/hr, max $21/hr for the care of 3 children... I found out that the price they're charging businesses/corporations that use their backup services is something like $40/hr....I asked why it was necessary to take a 50% commission and they said it was required to keep the business afloat essentially. To me it sounds like their business model is upside down, similar to Uber taking the majority of drivers' pay. For this reason, I've stopped taking jobs with them. It's extremely difficult to land even an interview for the higher paying part-time, full-time roles. I keep the temp job emails on for if times get really rough because as I said, if a nanny/sitter is willing to accept this low of pay, you can expect that they (myself included) really needed the money. I recommend smaller boutique agencies that I'm also a part of to my friends that ask. They have a pay scale depending on the number and age of the kids, guaranteed meals for longer jobs, and guaranteed rides home for jobs ending late. Common sense stuff. Leaving this review not to be petty, but because I wish I knew before I went through the trouble of reference checking.
