I noticed there were no reviews on here so I thought I would be the first. This preschool is tiny…read moreand when we first moved here we were debating if we should put my 3 year old in Crosspoint or Happyland. Well Happyland was the first to call after being on the waiting list and I was hesitant because it was so small and not as fancy as Crosspoint. Once we were accepted and told our new friends that our son was going to Happyland people automatically asked how we got him in there because it's one of the more desirable schools in Niceville. I guess we got lucky. Once school started my fears automatically went out the window. it's a small class, they only accept a small amount of kids so every kid gets the attention they need. The teachers were great. I don't know how to express how amazing they were with my kid and how well they treated him. They truly deserve more pay then what they get and you can tell they love being there and interacting with the kids. I saw my kid grow into a social butterfly and each week he would come home more knowledgeable then the last. I saw my friend kids come home from Crosspoint, and although Crosspoint is also a good school I was able to tell the difference between what the parents told me and what was happening at Happyland. Crosspoint is essentially Wal-Mart and Happyland is the mom and pop shop. If you have the opportunity to get your kid into Happyland, Do it. Put yourself on the wait list and wait it out, you won't be disappointed. It actually broke my heart having to tell the school that we were moving and won't be returning after the summer. You want a school with amazing teachers, great curriculum, family environment with involved parents and teachers that's care, this is the school. I will always have a happy place in my heart for Happyland. I hope I find a place in Navarre like this.

Crosspoint is very "popular" and has a very impressive facade/website. Well... we got on the waiting list as Happyland and Crosspoint were all full at the time. My child ended up going for a short time to the CDC at the NWF college. While it's nice too, we got lucky and someone moved and we were called by Happyland with an opening 3 months later. Once my child started going there, she was really happy and social and was excited about going to school everyday (unlike the Previous preschool - but I think she was having some peer trouble there). She loved Happyland all the way through and loved being with her teachers, who are genuinely wonderful! We got a call a month later from Crosspoint as well, but at the time my child was so happy at Happyland that there was no way I changing schools. While I don't have personal experience with Crosspoint - my son who is just turning three is definitely going to be going to Happyland! Yes, we were THAT happy with it!

RBCS seemed like a quality school - their admissions…read moredepartment made me feel welcome and made the school seem excellent academically. However, I had three problems: 1. The talent development program (presented as special education) is not special education. The instructors don't need to have education degrees and get on-the job training and seminars on specific general education topics. The only difference I saw is smaller class size (yay) and slower speed: they use the same material as other schools but go slower. The students didn't seem to get other resources including no sustained reading specialist intervention (it's only a short term intervention if staff feels it'll help). 2. Responsiveness to concerns: several administrators dismissed our educational concerns, asking us to trust their process. But their process involved much less actual educational teaching than other area schools. 3. Discipline: admissions stressed that their discipline system hasn't changed in 50 years. It showed. The system in elementary school involves a dozen or so red-letter items (in the blood of Jesus) and a similar number of black-letter (sinful) items. The discipline system is absolutely equated with moral/ Christ-like behavior. Children are frequently admonished about their "red" or "black" behavior. Lots of kids show anxiety about this. A lot of parents stated concern. My kid had daily issues over this to the point of needing medical intervention. The problems resolved when we switched schools. This was one experience - it may fit well for others. But I recommend asking lots of very specific questions before choosing RBCS.

Your kids will definitely learn as older and younger are grouped together and sit around a table for lesson time. There is a big yard for them to run around. The place could use some updating but nothing really negative to say. If we didnt have.to move we would still be here. I recommend this place to anyone

My son has been going to the Little People's Place for two years, and the only thing we are worrying about is having to leave this little kids' safe haven because we are moving out of the area soon. True, this place has no shiny hardwood floors or fancy furnishings. Instead, they provide your child with plenty of individual warm loving attention; their Creative Curriculum works great to help your little one develop to the best of their ability. The teachers are a wonderful family, very welcoming and open to kids and parents; there have never been any substitute staff. We always get feedback about our son's day, they text us pictures of him playing or discovering the world, they know his likes and needs. Best of all, they CARE. We have a feeling that when my son is gone from here, he will be missed, for real. And we will miss them for sure!

I pulled him out after learning he was getting in trouble and shamed for not eating the snacks offered. I was very wrong. I was getting notes home for things like not properly using a tissue, taking his socks off incorrectly, or he spit out a snack he didn't like onto his plate. He would come home miserable. He started having issues at meal times over trying new foods. When I tried to communicate with the teacher/owner, I was told she made an exception allowing him in to her school and I was free to pull him out. There was no empathy or warmth. After doing research, I found this school is not accredited through any Montessori programs. It is not following a true Montessori method which I would have seen if parents were allowed in the school at any point, however parents are not welcome. This is not child-led learning as Maria Montessori envisioned and I was very disappointed in the way my child was treated and did end up pulling him out. It wasn't worth his daily misery for minor infractions of being a child that were constantly pointed out to him. He has been much happier away from that environment.
