We hired childcare connection through the Fairmont banff springs to dog sit during our stay.
The sitter arrived promptly which was appreciated. However, when we went to the room to check on our dog after the sitter had left she was left on the bed in her excrement. Our dog is 6 pounds with 3 working legs, she is unable to jump onto or off of any furniture, let alone a bed 30-36" off the floor. When we spoke to the sitter she advised that she has let our dog out multiple times and she went to the washroom each time. So there should be no reason for her to have had to relieve herself, if this was true. Let alone being left on the bed, which she was trapped on, as she is too small and injured. When we got to the lobby, the sitter was with a large group of friends, following the state we found our dog in we believe the sitter was not with our dog for the 3 hour duration we had hired her to be there for.
We sent an email over to childcare connection in hopes of bringing to their attention our unfortunate experience, and instead were met with hostility from Ann. Ann not only was unwilling to discuss the matters, but contradicted statements from the sitter herself. They are now claiming that our dog was not left on the bed (again she's 6 pounds with 3 working legs- it is physically impossible for her to have gotten on the bed on her own), and that the sitter took our dog outside but our dog didn't need to relieve herself.
I was fully ready and willing to hear out the service provider for an explanation of our lack of care, but were instead met with no accountability.
We take responsibility for trusting this service as they were suggested by the hotel, and we thoroughly regret the decision to trust them. Thankfully it was our dog and not a child that was left alone where the experience could have been even more traumatic and dangerous.
I've included the communication, as a warning to people that if you work with this company this is how you can be expected to be treated. Contradictions, lies, and hostility. Hire at your own discretion. I have removed the name of the sitter for her own privacy, and have included a snippet of the email from the hotel.
I never once asked for a refund, I just wanted to bring forth my concerns to the service provider.
UPDATE: I see Ann has responded with more falsities. Contrary to her claims, my dog was not left unattended following the sitter leaving. And once again would not explain that MOMENTS after the sitter left I found my dog ON the bed in excrement. read more
