I wanted to buy a pair of cowboy boots and Cavender's was the first place I stopped at. Compared to places like Lucchese's, this place has boots that are on the affordable side. The first pair of boots that I tried on were the ones I ended up purchasing at the end of the day. I opted for suede instead of leather, since I was looking at them for more of a fashion statement. What I love about my boots is that it doesn't really look like cowboy boots and I could wear them with anything. Jimena was the employee who had kept them on reserve for me while I perused the other boot stores to see what else was out there before making a commitment. I am so happy with my purchase and I highly recommend coming here.

This iconic two-story store -- painted a stark white and adorned with a big rust-colored horse statue on the 2nd story balcony -- has been a western store staple in Fort Worth since 1902. Other shops have come and gone, but you've always been able to find the essentials here at Fincher's White Front. Both classic and the latest trending in hats, jeans, boots, belts, buckles, button-ups, and so forth. Fincher's isn't enormous but it has a decent kids, womens, and mens section as well as Stockyards souvenirs, from toys to keychains, to shot glasses. All things Texas and western for all ages. The staff here is great. I'm pretty sure a legit cowboy with like 70+ years of ranching experience helped my friend and I find him some boots. We probably would have bought anything this dude tried to sell us, haha, he was very convincing with his western wear knowledge. And a young cowboy at the register helped us pick out pants! The prices at Fincher's are super affordable, especially compared to most of the retail options in the Stockyards. It's touristy and expensive, so prices are generally high around here. Give Fincher's a shot!

I went back for a second try in about five minutes and they were open. The store is your typical boutique minus any sale section, and perhaps a bit more jewelry than most places have. The pricing is moderate, although judging from first glance, I don't know if the items' quality will stand the test of time. Nobody was particularly rude, as far as customer service goes, but no one was particularly friendly either. It seemed that the girl behind the counter was engaged in conversation with another employee(?) and didn't acknowledge me until I asked for a dressing room. I ultimately ended up not buying the one shirt I tried on because I didn't like it enough for the price tag. There was nothing particularly bad I thought the store, but nothing that stood out either.

They had a lot of brand names such as Yeti, Patagonia, Kuhl, North Face, and Cotopaxi. They also had the boutique brand name prices. Ouch! Was a little more expensive than the aforementioned box chain stores that can stretch out the discounts and push product faster. This location is in an upscale market area with the likes of Tiffany's, Jimmy Was, Gucci, Neiman Marcus, etc, so that pushes the price up a bit, I get that. Demographics and all. Was a neat little store. Had a lot of the new items, geared for cold weather right now, I'm sure the items change. Some of the spring stuff was arriving. The products speak for themselves as far as quality. However that's where the quality runs out. There was a staff of 3 there this day, but not a single one of them said a thing to us the entire time we were there, we were there for 20-25 minutes total. Two of them, younger ladies, just stood there talking to each other while leaning on the clothing racks up front. They glanced at my wife and I and went back to their discussions. Gave me a reminded reference to the scene in Pretty Woman, when Julia Roberts character walks into the classy boutique on Rodeo Dr, and the lady's shun her for not looking like she can afford anything. Sad thing is, we buy these items all the time for our adventures, rides, and hikes, and if they work off commission, then they just lost a huge amount of commission and sales cuz we looked, saw a few items we thought of grabbing, but left because of the snobbish and stand offish atmosphere. This is sad, because this was really neat little store cradled in the high end shopping distract amongst some really good eateries.
