I really wanted to like this place, but after 2 visits I am still unimpressed…read more The first time around, I ordered nachos with ground beef; during my second visit I went for the vegetarian burrito as well as an order of nachos with salsa. The nachos tasted OK the first time - but I have had better at any Tex-Mex place in the US - but I did not like them the second time. Not sure if they had changed the brand or something? The ground beef was alright, but I felt it was missing some spices. They don't make the tortillas themselves which came as a huge disappointment to me. My veggie burrito was filled with rice, beans, potatoes, lettuce, tomato, corn, cheese, salsa and guacamole and generous size. Decent food but nothing more. Another disappointment were the salsas. Spicy yes, but no depth in flavor. I have a bit of a beef with the service as well. The two ladies working there both times I visited, were not exactly unfriendly, but they seemed bored and uninterested. No smiles for the customers and they were not exactly paying attention either cause when I ordered my veggie burrito they asked me what kind of meat I wanted on it. *insert eye roll here* Their attitude was also reflected in how they carelessly assembled the food by throwing things together. It was definitely not put together with love. The only positive thing was that they accepted my Groupon voucher without any issues.

You can buy some of those sauces for takeaway too, at very reasonable prices. The food itself is alright; nothing spectacular but good value for money and very convenient. For tacos, go pork. The other ones were too sweet. Don't take the hackfleisch potato one, it has a strange Indian taste and is too runny. It ran all over the tortillas on the plate and made them impossible to pick up and eat. The chicken and beef were alright, but they need to work on getting the right balance between overly wet and overly dry. They're served with flour tortillas, not corn. There's only one place in FFM with soft corn tortillas, as far as I know. Burritos are the usual Las Frankfurt style- big and full of (mostly) rice. Both of their homemade salsas are exceptional! It's better to go here early afternoon, as they close at 6pm so they don't cook new food later in the day. The sign says Margaritas and Mexican craft beer are coming next week. That could be a game changer if they do it right.

We ordered nachos with avocado, guacamole and hot salsa. Our verdict was: Hmmm.... just OK. The nachos were store-bought (- they literally opened the bag in front of our eyes) but tasted OK. The guacamole contained too much lemon or lime. It overpowered everything. Other spices were really lacking so I ended up adding some salt at the table. The salsa was alright, but I would not call that hot. It was also lacking some flavor/depth. The interior was quite spacious and nicely designed. The service was friendly and efficient enough. I don't regret coming here today, but I doubt that this place will see me again.
