This Chipotle isn't any different than the Chipotles in the States. I'm just glad I can have it here in Germany, if I decide to drive about 3.5 hours to get to it, that is. With that said, I've been here a few times, mostly because I've been around the area, never have I gone out here just to eat Chipotle. It gets fairly crowded, especially since it's in a large mall. However, I have never waited more than 5 minutes or so to get to the front of the line. They won't make a queso-rito if the line is long, though. read more

I got hungry a few weeks back and was in the mood for a burrito and decided to go to this location. So I booked a flight from NYC to Frankfurt, took the train and then walked to this location. I wonder if the beef served is from German cattle or American cattle. I wonder if the pork is from German pig or American pig and if the chicken is German or American. Can I taste the difference? Is there a difference? The Chipotle is in the Skyline Plaza. It's part of the mall. It has no doors (except in the back entrance/exit). But the main entrance in the mall area has no door. The front section is where you order and there's stool seating and a table in front. There's more seating to the right of ordering and more in back. There's the basic green and red Tabasco sauce. Everything appears the same as if it were in the United States. I order my usual: my Barbacoa burrito. And it's the same add on fillings pretty much: rice, choice of beans, corn, sauce, lettuce, etc... nothing different. The servers spoke perfect English. Are the staff imported? Or German grown? I am teasing. The burrito was huge just like in the states. Not much of a difference. Same goes for the price but in Euros. Didn't order a drink but there was beer and specialty drinks, free water on the side. Sat in back with a decent view of the outdoor diners and large skyline buildings. Just great! read more

Not easy to find a fair rating for this place. If you've been to Chipotle in the U.S., you already know the ordering process. Basically, you decide whether you want a burrito or a burrito bowl and then tell the server which ingredients you want. There are a lot of bean variations, so if you're not a big fan of beans, this might not be your place. I loved the food, but there are several cons which make it an average location. [Pro] + Food does taste great. Very tasty kinds of meat. Also mostly very healthy. + Very hip designed, industrial looking location + It's in a mall so when you're tired from lifting your girlfriend's shopping bags, this is a convenient location [Con] - Very, very overpriced! 9€ for an average taco bowl? Not only the main dish but they do charge you about 3€ for a small container of (very tasty) guac. Also very overpriced drinks. Not a big fan of their fancy lemonade choices. - Nice location but easily crowded and then uncomfortable - Somewhat limited food choices. As an American who travels a lot I do miss Chipotle, and I was pretty surprised to find one on my trip to Frankfurt, and this one is in a mall no less. Having spent the since couple of months in Eastern Europe I have come to set low expectation on food because sometimes tastebuds get lost in translation. But luckily no fear CHIPOLTE is REAL!!! Spread the world you American Ex-Pats, travellers, business people it is here and legit. I came here on a Saturday for a late lunch, and I was surprised to see a small line of people, it turned out they were Americans, like all 7-8 people in front of me were Americans. I waited my turn, and it seemed like they brought an American employee to come over and help them get up and running (this is actually normal for chains to bring people from other regions/countries to maintain consistencies/teach methodology). I ended up with some lovely Germans that put my Barbacoa burrito together like they do back in America. They had Corona and Binding beers for sale. The burrito tastes pretty much how I remembered it, and they even have the chipotle flavor Tabasco sauce there too. read more

I love Chipotle. That being said, this one is okay. It's about as good as can be expected from a U.S.-based restaurant shipped overseas. Some pros and cons: Pros: - The burrito is almost a direct translation of it's original self. Fresh. Delicious. Gigantic. - The restaurant has a very "Chipotle" feel. - Free water - the only place I've ever seen in Germany to do that. - They have restrooms in the restaurant, the code is on the receipt. - They're open on Sunday. It's taken almost a year to convince my German wife that this is not a lie. Cons: - Beer Selection. Seriously, a German Chipotle with two beers!?! - The Chips & Guac. Okay, to be fair, it's good MOST of the time. But it's inconsistent; sometimes the chips are blasted with lime and salt, sometimes they're just tortilla chips. - Upgrading your burrito with Guac is almost 3 Euro...damn. After all of that, I still recommend this place to EVERYBODY! I love to order two and then tease coworkers with my delicious re-heated taste of home the next day. read more

I haven't been to any Chipotle in about 5 years, but my B-My book offered vouchers for a free burrito and free chips and who am I to say No to that... ;-) None of the employees seem to speak German since that the concept of a vegetarian burrito caused some confusion ("Veggie burrito, OK. - What meat would you like?"), but the vouchers were accepted without any problem. The food was pretty good considering this is a place that just tries to serve as many customers as they can in the shortest amount of time possible. I don't care if people hate on this place because of the cost its great. I'm not American but my girlfriend is and she taught me all about chipotle and how great a burrito bowl is and well I cant help but agree. Firstly the cost, to be honest its not much more than a mcdonalds or a burger king in this country, but is fresher, tastier and probably better for you. There are also ways to maximize you meal at no added cost, so yeah don't complain just be smart. You get free water here too, which in a normal country would be nothing to write about or even comment on but in Germany its almost an alien experience and to make things better its not (insert expletive) fizzy water. If you are American, don't get excited thinking you found the diamond in the rough. IT'S HORRIBLE! EVERYTHING was bland down to the chips. It's nothing like the US, it's a waste of money. There are several Mexican places in and around Frankfurt that are good but don't quite seem to get the flavor profiles of authentic Mexican. The best Mexican food in Frankfurt. This says more about how godly awful the Mexican food is in Frankfurt than anything else. But on a hungover Sunday morning, a carnitas burrito with corn salsa, brown rice, cheese, pinto beans and more cheese is amazeballs. Brace yourself - if 9EUR for a burrito doesn't stop you in your tracks, the 3EUR for Guac (we know it's extra, but nothing should be that extra) is obscene. Excellent! Service was as expected from a Chiptole, polite, quick, and always helpful. Food quality was as fresh as any location in the U.S., and the taste just as comparable. The restaurant is actually bigger than some U.S. locations and is conveniently located near a main entrance to the Skyline Plaza Mall. The price is reasonable considering the freshness of the ingredients and the German demand for avocados, not always cheap. If you get a chance, enjoy a little slice of the U.S. culture and a staple in the fast food market. Great atmosphere and the food is ALWAYS filling. read more

I love Chipotle, and I'm so happy to see it in Frankfurt. Chipotle was a staple for me back in California during college and even in my early career. It's dependable, fast, and consistent. Although the shops in Skyline Plaza are closed on Sunday, Chipotle stays open to feed the hungry crowd from the nearby hotels. Once you're in line, you'll notice all the English around you and the US American accents. I think we all congregate here because we love Chipotle and a little taste of home. Worst experience I have had with customer service in my life. The workers were trying to rush my wife and I out of the restaurant at 8 pm, they close at 10. They had several items missing and when we asked when the other food items would be done cooking they told us "they would not." shortly after we reached the cashier and paid, they brought black beans to the line. I asked the cashier if we could get beans and he said his co-worker would assist us. I go down and ask for beans and the lady, who told me her name was Florida, gave me a half scoop in a bowl with no top and tried handing that to me, mind you we had ordered our food to go. My wife is a vegetarian and had nothing but rice, corn, sour cream, cheese and lettuce on her bowl so I asked her "could I have more beans please." in which she replied "you don't get more beans, you get one serving." Now I have worked at Chipotle before and I know the serving rules and what she told me wasn't correct. If a customer asks for more, you serve them more. And even if I had to pay extra I would have but she just flat out told me I don't get more. I will not be ever eating Chipotle again, I will be contacting corporate, and I will be telling my experience to everyone I know and encouraging them to not eat it as well. read more

Went in hungry and basically left the same way. The food tastes good, which is the reason I'm giving it any stars. Portions in this place are NOTHING like in the States. I've been here half a dozen times and this is the 4th time this is happening to me. The size of the portions always depend on the people serving up front. I get that everyone has a different understanding of how food should be portioned, but this is straight out ridiculous. Portions are way too small, especially for the asking price. If you REALLY, really miss Chipotle, I guess it's ok to feel cheated on your food once. But I'm all over it now and will not visit this establishment again. The service isn't any good either and they'll react badly if you dare to complain. They make so much out of this, they could at least not give you stink about it. It's not worth your money. First off I love Chipotle in the US!! So I am excited that they built one in Frankfurt. The food is freshly prepared and there is not really any differences to the US version. The prices are a bit steep for a burrito but I am willing to pay for anything semi-Mexican since the Mexican food scene here is basically non-existent. The beans and rice were delicious, tortillas and chips fresh, but the meat was a bit dry, specifically the Carnitas. They were also out of Guacamole which was really disappointing. Typically the guacamole here is excellent when it is available. I recommend coming here and will definitely be back. read more

Very good Tacos and Burritos with fresh ingredients. Some people are complaining about the higher prices compared to the US, but bear in mind that ingredients cost more in Germany and the customer base here is smaller. For me it's a good place to go when you are craving for some good tacos and burritos. The restaurant is busiest during 12-1 pm, so go there a bit earlier or later if you can. read more

We had an amazing time at this place! Not only did we get great burritos with fresh ingredients but the costumer service was incredible! This is a great spot for a lunch and hanging out!
