Given the volume of positive reviews for this school, I expected a structured and professional…read morelearning experience. What my wife received was not consistent with that standard. She prepaid for three lessons. Across the first two, very little substantive instruction was provided. The majority of the material was deferred until the final session, where it was rushed through all at once. That is not an effective way to teach a new driver. The larger concern was the instructor's approach. The instructor, Luis, spoke to my wife in a way that felt more like scolding than instruction. When she didn't immediately understand something, he would repeatedly ask, "Do you understand?" in a raised, urgent tone. When she made mistakes, he told her, "Your problem is that you don't listen!"--which is not constructive teaching. During a follow-up call, Luis acknowledged that he raised his voice, but described it as a "command voice." Regardless of how it is labeled, that approach created a pressured and discouraging learning environment for a new driver. A three-point turn was demonstrated once, with the expectation that she would immediately perform it. When she struggled, instead of reinforcing the skill within the lesson she had already paid for, the conversation shifted toward purchasing additional lessons. She came home visibly upset after the session. That should not be the outcome of a paid instructional environment. We contacted the school to resolve this directly. The only solution offered was a discounted additional lesson--effectively asking us to spend more money rather than addressing the quality of what was already provided. Given the number of positive reviews, I hope this is not representative of the broader standard. But it was our experience, and it's worth being aware of.

I recently took the Basic Rider Course. The course…read moredescription says it is designed for all levels of experience, even people with none, but I did not find that to be the case at all. The two instructors, Dave And Charles, are nice people, knowledgeable, and polite. But I did not find their corrections to be helpful because often times they would use terms I didn't understand such as "popping the clutch" , or they would just tell me what I did wrong, but not how to fix it. Again, I had no previous experience with motorcycles. Otherwise they were good about answering questions when I had them. I tried to take the course in June, it was during the rains that we had. Which that is OK, they are correct, it rains in Florida all the time so it is good to know how to navigate that. The first lesson is stopping and going, but we didn't spend that much time in that. I didn't really understand that lesson until about the fourth lesson when we were already moving onto other things. This was a big problem because each lesson builds on the previous one. Maybe I am a slow learner, but regardless , i was trying so hard, but still got overwhelmed. I tried to keep a positive attitude the whole time because I wanted to be there and I wanted to learn. At the end of the first day I wasn't sure I had learned anything that I could repeat honestly. Also, on the first day was pretty steady rain, but the second day was the day that we had the tornado warning in our area. During that time that we were advised via phone alerts to take shelter, but the instructors determined that the tornado was going in a different direction and that we could carry on. I could not. I was soaked, slushing in my boots and I wear glasses, and the rain made the course really difficult to see the little cones. Also there was lightning, and then again the threat of a tornado. These factors combined with no real support from the instructors do not make for a conducive learning experience. So I chose to leave and they let me know that I would have to forfeit and I would have to retake. If I did not have friends that ride, that encouraged me to continue, and explained that their experience with their MSF courses they took in other locations were wildly different I may never have touched a motorcycle again. They described having fun. They describe an interactive situation where the instructors asked about them their experience, why they wanted to ride a bike, just a general more friendly type thing. Later they decided since I left because of the tornado warning, they would not charge me to retake the class and allow me to take it again. I was grateful for the opportunity to try again, and was scheduled about a month out. During that time I got myself (thank you husband!) a 250 cc motorcycle and practiced my slow speed maneuvers, and just getting comfortable on the motorcycle. I was also grateful because when I went back, there were three instructors instead of 2, one of which was female, Jill, who I found to be outstanding. Her corrections were helpful because they were in terms that I understood, and she was positive and motivating, which I didn't even realize how much I was missing until she showed up. She was actually the first person to use the word fun the entire experience. She asked about us. She asked about our experience. She asked about our comfort and again she was just positive and very motivating. The second day Jill was sick, but they did have another instructor fill her place, his name was Raul. He was also very nice very kind. Lots of helpful information. The bike I was using, had some trouble, and Charles was able to work on it immediately for me. But during the test it started having trouble again, I let him know that I had to hold the throttle halfway open at all times to stop it from stalling, which is important because if you stall more than three times you fail the test. I let him know before my performance on a tested skill And his answer was "well then hold it halfway open ". Even prior to that I did not feel that they cared if we passed or failed, and that was definitely cemented for me then. So I did and ultimately I passed the course. But I would not have had I not have the additional month spent on my own motorcycle to learn. The course does what it says-it will get you through and get you your endorsement. I wouldn't go here looking to learn if you really have no experience. They would do well to have Jill be a constant part of the class because of her positivity and motivating attitude. Also it would have been nice if they'd shown that they recognized me and recognized my improvement. I know they see hundreds of people, but I really got the feeling they did know who I was went out of their way to not interact.

Great price 5 Stars - Exceptional Experience…read more We had an outstanding experience with U Drive It Driving School. Felix, Kiara, and Pat are truly professional, kind, and incredibly caring. Their dedication and patience made all the difference for our family. They also offered bi-lingual instruction which was a major plus for us! Our au pair arrived on a J-1 visa with limited driving experience and needed to quickly learn U.S. road rules, signs, and local driving expectations -- especially since driving is an important part of her responsibilities. The team at U Drive It provided structured, patient, and highly professional instruction that helped her build confidence and competence in a short amount of time. She adapted quickly thanks to their thoughtful guidance and hands-on teaching approach. As a host parent, there is nothing more important than knowing the person driving your child is well-trained and confident. I truly could not be happier knowing this school exists. We would not have felt comfortable navigating this transition without them. I highly recommend U Drive It to anyone looking for professional, supportive, and results-driven driving instruction. They are super reasonable in their prices and make it very affordable which was a plus! -- Jeanie Porter
