Rebecca took egg-cellent care of us--super attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming. I ordered the OMG loaded potatoes and WOW... they lived up to the name. Loaded with bacon, layered sauces, and candied jalapeños that brought the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Every bite hit. My friend ordered the croque madame, and after one bite, I already know what I'm getting next time. Rich, decadent, and that cheese sauce? 10/10. We also shared the apple bread with pistachio butter, which was such a nice surprise--not overly sweet, just perfectly balanced and delicious. The artwork throughout the space was incredible, the vibe was fun, and the portions were so satisfying I stayed full for most of the day. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to.

I ordered the shrimp and grits. My friend ordered the breakfast plate. Each came out to the table and I was honestly disappointed. I didn't know what to expect with the flavors. And the number one thing that ruined, the shrimp and grits for me was the amount of Parmesan it overloaded the plate that the smell was disturbing and made the texture of grits not to my liking. There were also only three shrimps in the entire dish just very underwhelming. Also, I was not happy with the freshly squeeze orange juice. It's not good at all. In my opinion overall, I will rate them at five out of 10.

All their items are made-from-scratch, and the menu seems to rotate occasionally. I love how it is simplified where you choose a $10 or a $15 main, which both options come with 2 sides of your choice, wheat or white toast, and a small canned juice. We ordered: +the Shrimp & Grits - the grits were the best grits I've ever had - they were thick, creamy, cheesy, and seasoned perfectly! I'd probably order this dish again, without the sausage, and opt for more cheesy grits as my 2 sides to load it up! +the Cheesecake Stuffed Peach Cobbler French Toast - this wasn't as overly sweet as I thought it would be, which was great; I think we'd go for the simple French Toast or the pancakes next time, though +Old Bay Maple Breakfast Potatoes - the Old Bay seasoning was subtle, and these large chunks of breakfast potatoes were more on the sweeter end +Scrambled Eggs +Turkey Sausage Link +Turkey Sausage Patty +pineapple and cranberry juice I noticed that the cranberry juice had expired, but it was easy to replace it with another drink of choice. Staff were friendly, but note that depending on the queue, you may wait for some time for your food, as it's all made-to-order; we waited for ours for about 12 minutes or so, and everything came piping hot! The portions are extremely generous and can feed at least 2 people or be split into 2 meals. Note that there are small little ordering cards to place your orders through; hand them to the staff, and they'll give you an estimated wait time. Most seem to get their items to go, as this is a food truck and there is no seating area. I'd be curious to try out any other additions they may add to their menu in the future, but I would definitely come back for those grits! +delicious grits! +friendly staff! +food truck located on Pennsylvania, in front of the shopping center

First off the price you can't beat for what they call a "plate" you get a main, two sides, piece of toast, and a juice! They have 10$ and 15$ priced plates. I got two of the 15$ plates the salmon cake and the berry stuffed cheesecake French toast with the eggs and the old bay maple potatoes. The old bay maple potatoes!!!! So good! The salmon cake was the best I've ever had! Hearty in size. I also tried the new grits bowl they had on their menu. Grits, fried chicken, eggs, cheese, hash browns, and gravy ..tooo goood! Service was also great and timely had all my food in about 12 mins. The girl in the window was really nice and helpful. I will deff be back here! Highly recommended!

That's the kind of energy that tells you something before you even sit down. Two levels, a bar on the first floor, plenty of seating once things moved along. Here's the part that made me smile: happy hour is all day on Fridays. ALL day. I got a margarita with Sorrow in it (yes, that's the liqueur and yes it was delicious), brussels sprouts, and char grilled oysters. Everything on the happy hour menu was $12. Twelve dollars. I ordered the tamarind BBQ wings to go and I need you to understand that once I got home and opened that bag, it was over. Fried perfectly, sweet, sticky, and absolutely worth whatever guilt you're carrying. I'm already plotting a return visit for the oxtails. Now, Lamar. The bartender on duty that evening deserves his flowers. Within two minutes of me sitting down, I had water and a placemat in front of me. He stayed attentive the entire time without hovering, checked in on everyone around him, and genuinely made the experience feel cared for. The rest of the staff that came around were just as friendly and on point. If you're in Southeast DC and looking for a spot with good vibes, good food, and staff that actually shows up, Sapadillas is it. I will be back.

We started our evening with a Lychee Martini and smoked coconut old fashioned, fantastic craft cocktails. The butternut squash soup was delicious, thick and rich. The Caesar salad is a table side presentation and just as delicious. Our entrees were the curry snapper and the lemon pepper snapper. We couldn't decide who made the better choice. They were both amazing. We ended the evening with the flambe' bananas, another table side presentation. The pianist, Rufus was great, and the entire staff was warm and welcoming. The property is beautiful, and the building is a showpiece of art and antique pieces. We can't wait to come back and do the exact same thing again!

I decided to to bold and ordered the chicken and biscuits. Unlike the photos I saw on Yelp, they now give you two chicken biscuits and hash browns. I asked for the hot honey on the side but it was liquid instead of thick. It was delicious but not as spicy as I had expected. The biscuits were superb! So thick and flaky, freshly baked. I wish I had some jam on the side. The fried chicken was solid but thin so a little dry. My spouse had the burger and he said it was amazing. The fries are great but some were a little too salty. What was mind blowing and the reason we came in the first place were the Ted's Tarts. I absolutely love pop tarts from child hood but no longer eat them because I know better but these were the tarts of my adulthood dreams. We ordered one of each flavor because we were flying back to CA later that evening and also, why not? The fillings were rich and ultra flavorful. The pastry was flaky and delicate. Just WOW! Also, it is in a super cute neighborhood and it has a coffee/alcohol bar. I mean, come on!

This was my first visit to Kitchen Savages. I had tried walking in without a reservation once before on a Saturday evening, and there were no seats available. So my first recommendation would definitely be to make sure you make/have a reservation because they do get busy (understandably so)!! Overall our brunch experience was good! I started off with the Mimosa Sampler for my drink order; I wanted to try the different flavours that were on offer. These were nice, but I'd hoped the presentation would have been a little better and the mimosas not as heavy with the juices. The food was great! Super tasty and packed with flavour. My husband had the Peach Cobbler French Toast and I ordered the 'Create-Your-Own' pasta. I requested it with salmon, shrimp and spinach, but it only came with the shrimp and spinach. Such a shame, because I can imagine the salmon would have made the dish EVEN better. When the bill came, it had the salmon (which I never got) listed on it - after pointing this out, the server checked with the kitchen, and kindly removed it from the bill. Overall, I would say that we really enjoyed brunch here. I will definitely be back in the future to try the main dinner menu & hopefully there'll be no mixups with what I order and what I get .
