We eat here 2-3 times a year when in town visiting family. I will alternate between baked and fried nuggets. Usually get fries, bread and the salad. The chicken is cooked to order so it's always served hot. The salads are always fresh and the sweet tea is good. The waitstaff is always friendly and helpful when asking questions about the menu. They bring the food to your table when it's ready. The interior and exterior of the restaurant is nothing special. It's located in a small struggling central Mississippi town. It's clean inside and out. They have a ramp for the elderly and physically challenged. My bride, mil and myself had dinner here on 12/23/25. We sat near the door and several strangers wished us a Merry Christmas as they left. You just have to love a small town and it's people. read more

Chicken Nugget has great food, generous portions, and friendly help. One of my favorite things is the bbq chicken nuggets.

First trip here. good food. Not a ton of flavor in the sides, but the chicken tastes like it's made in house and with a buttermilk & flour base. So it has a great southern taste. The portion sizes were a little small, the staff was very morose. Not many smiles or friendliness at all. The fries were not made in house and neither was the fried okra. I ran across this place when traveling from Starkville, and I was very skeptical at first. With a name like "Chicken Nugget," I was unsure of the quality, but I was extremely surprised. Boy there's nothing quite like chicken nugget. The name is less than creative but they make up for it with their chicken nugget meal. They also offer patty melts, burgers, philly sandwiches, catfish, and more! They also have one of the best salad bars around if that's something you're looking for. You can get your nuggets fried or grilled and you have the option to toss them or season them with barbecue sauce or lemon pepper style. The grilled lemon pepper is my fav. Chicken philly is amazing too. They have fried jalapeño slices as a side and they're great. And if you want desert, ask if they have caramel cheesecake. It's the best. I have eaten at this restaurant many times through the years while traveling through Carthage, MS during work. In December 2016, I went in to get an order to go. There was a blonde lady behind the counter that was rude. I figured she was having a bad day, bought my lunch and left. I was in town working 1/11/17 and I was there again today, 1/12/17, between 1:30 pm and 2:00 pm. I spoke to a nice man working there on 1/11/17 about putting a large salad on the menu (just in case you recall the conversation, you can put a face with this post). Today, 1/12/17, the restaurant had several customers seated and there were 2 ladies standing in line at the door of the lady restroom. The same blonde from December 2016 waited on me. Her demeanor was better when she took my order this time but that changed quickly. While I was getting my salad and drink, she went to the ladies restroom door and banged on it loudly saying for the person to get out because there were people waiting in line. The 2 women in the line looked at each other rather shocked that someone would do this. I was watching because I am a nurse and was thinking that maybe there was a sick person in the bathroom that might need help. Moments later, an elderly woman, her hair in a bun, wearing a skirt and a "Chicken Nugget" t-shirt came out of the bathroom. The two ladies in line told her that they didn't bang on the door. At that moment, the blonde rude woman started yelling inside the restaurant, YELLING, at the elderly woman. She was telling her that she didn't need to be in the bathroom that long and that people were waiting to use it. Elderly abuse is a crime. This was verbal abuse. It is not something that should be tolerated by the owner/manager of their employees. I pray the owner sees this and will please do something about it. I felt horrible for the elderly woman. I didn't say anything because I was so stunned that any person, employee or not, would yell at an elderly person. There was no reason to yell at her about the time she was in the bathroom. PLEASE, PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. read more
