The dishes are a decent serving size and the staff are generally quite nice. Pricing is on par with what you would expect. The food quality is good and there are a lot of flavors. Vegetables are generally pretty fresh which is also a positive. The steak is flavorsome however seasoning and sauces on some dishes can sometimes be a bit bland for my taste. The store is well positioned in the heart of McLaren Vale by the caravan park and is good for a quick dinner. Meals are $11 to $16. Personal favorites from the menu are Pork ribs in plum sauce, sizzling pepper chicken, satay chicken and lemon chicken. Rice is sold separately for $3 and is generally nice fluffy. Medium serves are not that much more pricey.

It's kind of funny because as you turned right driving from beach road to Esplanade, the first few buildings are actually residential houses. The restaurant itself isn't big, but it can still sit about max 40 pax I think, judging from the amount of tables they have there. During our 2 hours there for dinner, the restaurant managed to fill up about 1/3 to nearing half the number of tables there. Today we ordered Deep fried fish fillet with cream corn sauce, Mandarin pork chop, sizzling mongolian beef, curry chicken, and peking duck and special fried rice as the starch for the meal. We didn't have to wait long for the food. While we were still chatting away, the food started arriving one after another. That's a plus. Now for the food tasting.. Among the six dishes I've mentioned, I like the Deep fried fish with cream corn sauce. Followed by the peking duck.. The duck itself is tasty, but because it's peking duck, there's only really a few pieces of meat. We should have ordered roast duck instead. The fried rice is rather good too. I will say the curry chicken is alright, even though it's not the type of curry that I'm hoping (think it's green curry), I'm not a fan of the mongolian beef and the mandarin pork chop. Really, I can't tell the difference between those two dish, as the sauce taste similar, and the texture of the meat felt similar as well. All the dishes though are good in the sense that they aren't too salty or sweet. So when we finished all the rice, we can still eat the meat dishes on its own. To be honest, there's a few yays and a couple of nays. And while there's not a 3.5 star available for rating, 4 star is still acceptable for the overall value, taste and service provided.

It does get busy as they are very well known in this area but you still don't usually have to wait long. They do have a beautiful restaurant here with dishes they bring out still sizzling on the plates. They also do great banquets if you are having a funtion or celebrating something here. You can get pretty much a bit of everything for a very small price for a proper restaurant meal. For example their 9 course banquet is under $25 per person for 4 or more (but the 8 course banquet can cater for as few as 2 people and has fried ice cream!!!!). The best and most popular part of this place is the takeaway noodle bar. You can get 2 main meal dishes with either rice or noodles for only $10.80 at dinner time and $9.80 at lunch. There's a great choice of dishes, you can choose just what you want for yours and everyone else can do the same, it's usually all ready to go in the display and you rarely have to wait for more to be cooked. If you do it doesn't take long though. You can also get spring rolls and both fried and steamed dim sims from the take away bar with specials on those as well usually if you buy a few. And of course with all good chinese - don't forget to grab a pack of fortune cookies and some prawn crackers off the counter too!

Staff are friendly and the menu is very diverse. In fact, this is one of the few restaurants I know that have an all you can eat bistro special where the food actually tastes good. The restaurant looks quite nice on the evening too as it is all lit up nicely and the bar area looks well decorated. There are many different items on the menu that I like including their spring rolls (which taste really good), mongolian steak and lemon chicken. All of these are my standard Chinese cuisine favourites and this restaurant all does them rather well. Pricing is perfect with a $10.50 price tag fetching you two not-so-modest-sized portion of any of your two favourites from the buffet menu with a serve of rice. There are lots of tasty vegetables that are served with each dish and the rice they serve meals with is well cooked, not too watery like some other Chinese restaurants I have been too. It does get quite crowded and a tad noisy though but with the food quality, price and the bistro configuration, the restaurant does Chinese food with a modern twist. All you can eat is also offered at the restaurant for around $18 a head however I haven't tried the all you can eat (probably a good thing as I would most certainly overeat.)
