The Castle House Estate - tiny home container

My friends and I really enjoyed our two night stay here. We stayed in the three bed/two bath home…read more The home was very cozy, clean, and comfortable with all necessary amenities. There was plenty of space to hang out, a full kitchen with fridge, a cowboy style pool, and a gas grill, if you're the type to make dinner yourself. They were very quick to respond to questions while we were there. While we didn't use their room service or fire pit, all of those things are a nice extra touch. It was also easy to let ourselves in and out with the automatic lock, so we never had to worry about keys or being locked out. I would stay here again if I were to go back! Lovely stay.

Man I wish I knew where I could write a review for others, but I went through booking and I'm not…read moresure how that works. So here I will explain and give my honest input. I planned to arrive earlier but I was late :( though it seemed like everyone was in bed already we had the nice host come up to us and guide us on checking in. He let us know that we are IN FACT able to park the car on the drive way close to the location so you don't have to carry your stuff to your spot.. designated parking in my opinion is actually very smart and very thoughtful because who wants to see a bunch of parked cars in such a nice view?! So I got the tiny home container.. and let me just say IT WAS THE BEST THING I HAD EVER DONE! I actually didn't know which one of the containers I booked but the one I got was the best one! Everything and I mean everything was included. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker, AND ac!!!! The roof top? BEST FREAKING PART! Watching the sunset was amazing solo time. As well as watching all the stars you never get to see in the city. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Towels were provided, pillows and sheets. I mean these people thought of it all! They are very clear about their instructions and how they want things done upon checkout and it was smooth.. I guess my ONLY "thumbs down" would be the center pool. I personally liked it.. it's a shallow sit down cool down tub and it works for when you just want to dive and sun bathe. Other than that, I have nothing negative to say. I really enjoyed my stay. And if you're someone who doesn't go camping or even glamping, don't stay in a yurt? When it's hot it's HOT when it's cold it's COLD.. it's not rocket science. Choose wisely if you want to enjoy your stay and really unwind. Overall, I 150% will be back and stay here in case I need a moment to reset my brain.

However, the character of this cabin lies with a mini-"museum" of the owner's amazing vintage collection: from a couple of rustic cars, colorful neon signs (two of which a can be lit during the evening for a breath-taking backdrop while star-gazing or doing your evening BBQ), decade old posters, antique furniture and two vintage trailers: it is like stepping back to another era! Beside the cabin is a small cottage whose walls are adorned with bottles of different hues that glow from the outside: what fine craftsmanship! In the backyard, there is a small dish plate with pet food, so you'll be amused to see wild birds and hares sharing the pellets. The place has glorious views of the mountains and the desert! Overall, the place is a feast for photographers and art lovers: a fusion of modern and vintage comforts, plus it is secluded enough for those who wanted to experience the serenity of the desert. The owner is professional, accommodating and courteous.

Great bathrooms, a wonderful kitchen.. and even something you won't need: A TV. Believe me, you won't crave modern entertainment when you let your imagination soar at this place. From vintage cars, to mid-century trailers and neon signs from eras past... Your curiosity and childlike wonder will take over. You'll find yourself saying things like "How DID they do that?" as you stare at the beautiful maze of bottles that make up a private little cottage... Just a stone's throw from the main house. Bungalow in the Boulders is filled with wonderment for kids of all ages.... Making it the perfect place for families, friends or couples just looking for a private getaway. This might be one of the few times in my life where it wasn't about the journey, but the destination!

We only stayed for one night but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Check-in instructions were sent via email and there's a code to unlock the room. The grounds are very pretty, perfect for a desert wedding or party. There are great views all around and there aren't any neighbors nearby. It looks like they own a lot of acreage nearby. The room we stayed in was the Onyx room. It was beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. There are lots of nice additions in the room to ensure you enjoy staying in from wine glasses, a wine fridge, record player with a record collection, bath salts, star gazing area outside with a mattress, and comfy robes and slippers to use during your stay. If it were warmer, I definitely would've tried out the outdoor tub and shower but it was too cold at night to even think about it. There's also a large community pool in the works. As mentioned earlier, this hotel is about a mile from the NP so it's an excellent choice for anyone going there. It's also not too far from town so you're not too far from stores and cafes. I am definitely planning on staying here again!

JB (the owner) was so courteous and sweet. He prepared a map of wonderful destinations to be reached on foot from the studio and gave us such privacy during the entire weekend. It's incredibly quiet without neighbors for almost a half mile away, but only a fifteen minute walk into town. At night you can see every star in the sky and the breathtaking piled-up rock mountains are footsteps from your front door. I have two dogs--a pitbull and a poodle-mix--both who love to explore the outdoors and they loved every second of it. Ordinarily, we have a hard time finding a place that accepts dogs with open arms. It was such an added luxury to have them there. I highly recommend this place for couples or friends who want to relax and get away from the city's mania for a little. You can bring groceries and cook! There's also a really fun little backyard area with a fire pit to use and hang out by at night. The value for the money was totally worth it. It's a really special place. We're definitely going back again.

Pros: -A wonderful patio and courtyard for stargazing and barbecuing -The kitchenette is equipped with a good supply of cooking basics and basic kitchen supplies -The owner will give you all the information you need about the surrounding areas and there is a great supply of menus and flyers in the room from the area, including information about the park. Cons: -Its not completely private. It is mostly private (75/25?) but it is connected to the owners house and you get reminded of this occasionally hearing conversations or noises at night from that side. -After an ant issue (heat wave) the owner asked to come in one day which we agreed to, but on our last day we came home and found him coming out, which was not agreed upon. I kind of get it but you should always give a heads up. -The bed is not a mattress and box-spring combo but it is on wheels and springs which can make awful noise and is not very comfortable Summary; Beautiful location with great star viewing, Basic necessities covered in the studio, wish it were completely private with a different bed. Depending on the rate when we want to go we would be pretty likely to look in to staying again.

We stayed at the Sullivan cabin, just a mile or so from the Indian Cove entrance to Joshua Tree…read moreNational Park. The property is far enough from the highway that there is no road noise, and the neighboring properties are zoned to allow privacy when lounging in the yard. The cabin itself was immaculate, with all of the amenities one could ask for. Dishes, appliances, TV were all top notch (including the granite counter tops). Our rep was Susan, and in the evening when we found ourselves a little confused with the satellite remote control, she was just a phone call away. She also had recommendations for dining out in the area, but we elected to use the gas grill that is also provided on the property. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, with a wonderful enterprise running it all. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to our friends and associates.

Hiking at 49 palms was a daily activity for me. A perfect 3 mile hike (Part of Joshua Tree National Park) that had ALL you can want from a hike and it was only about 4 minutes from the house. I 100% RECOMMEND anyone and everyone to consider this home as an awesome place to live in the up and coming 29 Palms area and if you are lucky enough to speak with Susan, you can be assured that everything she says is 100% accurate --as it was for me.

The following review is for the Luna Mesa House:…read more From the outside, this place looks like a run-of-the-mill desert bungalow. The inside, however, resembles an IKEA show room, albeit much more sparsely decorated and functional. Here are the features that we liked: + Pet friendly + Hot tub (already warmed up for us upon arrival) + TV, DVD player, iPod docking station + Free WiFi + Hammock + Well provisioned kitchen (so you don't have to eat out) + Lots of books, DVDs, and games + Sofa that folds out into a second bed + Close to Joshua Tree National Park Here's what we disliked about the place: - A tad pricey ($200 a night) - No closet to hang your clothes - It's located off a bumpy dirt road Overall, the Luna Mesa House is a really nice vacation rental.

This review is for the Villa Rocosa house…read more We stayed at Villa Rocosa for 5 days and it wasn't enough! I never thought I would love the desert, so we planned a short getaway. We ended up loving the place and Joshua Tree park, so we stayed longer. Villa Rocosa seems the perfect size for a weekend escape for two. The layout is very open - a bar separates the kitchen from the living room which doubles as bedroom with a Murphy bed - and the living room wall is built into a formation of rocks that bring the outside in. It gives you a sense of being in the Mojave (with the comfort of a Swamp cooler!) There is a small TV and a selection of movies on DVD, although you'll probably want to spend your time watching the small animals outside (like the curious Greater Roadrunner who came within a few feet of my wife as she was sunbathing...) And there is free WiFi, so you can post all your pics of Joshua Tree in the evening after your hikes :) The small refrigerator was roomy enough to stock food for the entire time we were there (we only ate out once - at Royal Siam... decent Thai food). There are grocery stores, a Walmart, etc. and Gas/Convenience stores nearby. The entrance to Joshua Tree National Park is just a few miles up the road, so it is very convenient for any hiking or off-road trips you might want to do. The dirt road leading to the house is definitely rocky/bumpy at certain points. In our Jeep it was nothing, but if you have a smaller car, you'll probably feel it. The house and the area are very quiet... and the stars at night, amazing! This is definitely a great spot for getting away from it all. We took advantage and did some songwriting. But regardless of what you want to do, it's definitely a quiet little place to get away and relax. Over all, a very good experience. We like it so much, we've already booked our next trip to discover the Sky House! (...and hit the dusty Joshua Tree trails we couldn't get to this last trip).
