I will never run out of toilet paper. I will always have this paper to wipe my hind end.

Very well written paper. Also a very good news organization in general. Has the Chicago point of View unlike the tribune!

The paper leaves a lot to be desired, but the building is fascinating and well worth a visit.

Even though it's a liberal newspaper, I prefer the Sun-Times over the Tribune because the Sun-Times is a compact newspaper.

So keep an eye out for it, as you drive. Today, was my first time at Six-Corners neighborhood in many, many years and I'm glad that I made the trip to it. This store is very well stocked with magazines and many types of magazines that you don't find at a Jewel-Osco magazine rack or check-out aisle. Being a film buff, I was glad to find "Cinema-Retro" magazine as well as several discounted hardcover books. Today, I spent $134 here on magazines & books and I had a good time doing it. I was able to browse without interruption until I found the items that I wanted to purchase. The check-out clerk was very helpful and polite, the place was very clean, very well lit and the magazine racks were very well organized. There's also a small coffee shop in the store. Great place - 5 stars!

The nice barista told me about their rewards program too, so I signed up! There was an event happening that prevented me from sitting down and enjoying my cup near the front, but I did leave with several mags. Prices and variety of mags was good and I hope they get more into indies beyond just European mags. Can't wait to take the bus over here again and again!

That said, as far as what to do around town I MUCH prefer TimeOut Chicago even if I do have to pay for it. With the Reader, it's just too much crap to wade through. And Jonathan Rosenbaum...what is his deal? My boyfriend loves him but every time I read one of his reviews, even if it's a movie I've already seen, it's like "What the hell is he talking about?" It gets to be insufferable. However, I must give them an exta star for carrying my beloved Lynda Barry. Updated to add another star: Though I'm a Time Out subscriber now, I still find myself picking up the reader for their often interesting (though sometimes ridiculous) cover stories. I ADORE their long articles - one thing I hate about newspapers is how they don't usually give any details with their stories. I also love how The Reader will say shit about local politics no one else will.

I wanted to help support independent journalism, so I bought an annual subscription in March. The first and then the second delivery dates came and went with no paper. They have an email address to contact with questions and issues about subscriptions that is a black hole. I emailed them more than once from a couple different addresses and got silence. The phone number they have listed is never answered, it just rings and rings. I finally had to start a dispute with my cc company as I paid for goods that were never delivered. If you want to read the Reader get it from a box in the city and skip the subscription by mail.

They have tons of classics, mysteries, new releases, etc. They also have a great selection of newspapers and magazines. Friendly staff. All books are brand new and I really like the versions of paperbacks and hardcovers they carry. Maybe a little expensive, but worth the quality! For example Kafka's The Trial with the cover illustration of the eyes. In a few minutes I hope you can find something too! What a great thing to have a really nice bookstore in a hospital lobby. Two escalators above the bookstore you will find a spacious food court with a Greek fast casual restaurant, Panera Bread, Burrito Beach, Subway, Cafe L'Appetito, Fare, Blackwood BBQ and tons of seating. You could spend an afternoon up here!

Yes, the prices were retail and there wasn't much discount, but I was happy to pay given their science-related curated selection that seemed very well thought out.
