I attended the Rose in 2018 and 2019 and never saw or experienced a "bad" night. I did see busy and slow nights. I also saw incredible things and also had nights of chilling out and chatting with other friendly patrons. Once there was someone arrive too drunk to let in for everyone's benefit. Another time someone began to bring out party materials not allowed and was unwilling to refrain from doing so, and as a result was politely told to leave. If someone had a problem other than this I find it incredibly hard to believe it was by the staff or regulars. This is a safe and comfortable place where you can show and KNOW you can discretely relax, socialize, or get more active exploring, experimenting, or educating if you want. There are comfortable lounge areas, a BYOB location to keep yours cold or secure, or, pull up a spot and get your mix and get comfortably numb. Sip is cool - smoke, snort, or such not allowed nor would you want to while enjoying the cool decor and select equipment available to set the mind racing. Come dressed at least within legal boundaries but with secure lockers you can wear anything or nothing within this secure domain. Rules are simple, people and staff are friendly, and fantasies fulfilled await. Don't be wondering down the road why you never checked it out because that's the pnly regret in regards to The Chicago Rose. I gave 4 stars as it continues to grow and thrive but has not gotten to point of selling miscellaneous items as some do, and, it is a discrete place and like most, avoids notoriety by not having a sign. I look forward to the day when all the "closet" fetish - kinky - adventurous - Roleplaying types, like Richard, will realize that nearly everyone, has "their" fantasy, kink, or fetish that they desperately want to experience but will wait and delay showing up but once they do will regret all that lost time. Great place, amazing staff and the most knowledgeable people you will ever meet in the community. This atmosphere is much more open, educational, and intimate then other clubs. Free nights are the best for first timers as more people and staff are available.. slow night are relaxed and music or TV will always be an option for those simply interested in enjoying a social setting. I had a similar situation as Carin's review. A friend and I arrived kind of late on a Halloween weekend and some random came up and started asking us a bunch of questions, almost insinuating we should leave, and he seemed to be questioning our sexuality just because we were both single females. If my friend had remembered to bring the beer, we would've just gone to the bar and finished winding down for the night but the environment is not very friendly towards single females, it seems. Blah blah blah... I get it. It's a kink club and even though tons of people have gone nobody wants to review it. But I'm Yelp Elite baby... it's what I do! (Boujie boujie boujie) Ok for starters my female gal pal has been wanting to do this for three years and both she and I are recently single. The Nude Years Eve party came up as a joke which turned out it was that evening as opposed to actual New Years (great call) and I finally decided to go. I've never been to one of these clubs and no I did not get my groove on with anybody there. That said, here's my take... if you are curious about this sort of thing or ever thought about it, I have to say that this is one of those borderline Chicago experiences that could have gone either way but on our case went very well. For starters, the whole community was so very warm and welcoming to me and my friend. We walked in and proclaimed ourselves as newbies and it was over. These guys pulled out all the stops. My friend and I were immediately turned over to This gal Cherry who set the tone of ready for this? Extreme professionalism. A superb ambassador to the community she took myself and my friend on a tour and explained each area and the options that came with them. They had a sex swing. They had a private room, they had a swing, they had an Alfa chair (I LOVED that chair), they had a rope area (which had a guy who was so professional and cool my friend spent the entire evening platonically learning about ropes and knots... idk). But most importantly they had rules. Rule 1: you do not touch without verbal permission. Even a platonic touch... you need to ask. Rule 2: Don't judge. You're at a kink club... you like your stuff and they like theirs. That's it. Rule 3: Part of the experience is being watched by people unless you are in the private room. That said you must always ask if it's ok for you to watch and or participate. Rule 4: No rape play. Cherry can't determine if no really means yes or not so if she hears a no the club has gotta enforce. Rule 5: Have fun So after the rules were explained it honestly was like a regular college house party at first. Street cloths, occasional making out... and as the evening rolled on we saw it... a little but here, a few exhibitionist blow jobs, a little spanking here and there and yes a little bit of fucking... but as odd as it sounds it all just blended in with the atmosphere. The important thing to note was that in my opinion the facilities were totally clean. It was dark but it's not like I was slippin in jizz (yeah I just said that ). Above all though the atmosphere felt safe safe safe and supportive with literally zero pressure to do a thing. I was fully dressed the entire evening and it's not like folks were mad or neutral... they were happy to have newbies dip their toes a little in "the lifestyle". The ages ranged from 20s to 60s but the bulk of the folks there were on average, I'd say about 30. There were about 60 folks who attended and booze was part of the ticket cost. If you want to be a real rock star, pay it forward and bring a bottle to donate for the bar. All in all I've never experienced anything like this in my life. But that said, Chicago made me and my friend feel comfortable and safe every second we were there. So... are you a little curious?! Give it a try! Maybe I'll see you there! Don't believe the site. The Chicago Rose is not "a non-judgemental private membership social club". I can't remember ever feeling more unwelcome. I wish I could say it wasn't because I was queer, but lacking any straightforward communication, I can't rule it out. I was interested in a particular theme night, and a friend who'd been before offered to accompany me. Since the last time he'd been, though, there'd been a policy change where membership was required to get in. "No big deal", says I, "How much is a membership?" It took an unusual amount of back and forth to find out that a theme membership was just $10, and that I only had to pay for one month. "And if he pays for a membership, he can bring me as a guest, right?" asked my friend. "Yes," says one of the two people behind the counter. "No," says the other. I'd been to the website. I knew the correct answer was 'Yes'. Maybe the one saying 'No' was just mistaken? They conferred for a bit, and settled on "Yes". "But you have to sign on through the website. We can't take cash, it has to be card or PayPal," says the more helpful of the pair. "Still no big deal," says I again, as I pull out my smartphone. "You won't get a signal down here," says the unhelpful one, "You have to go out on the patio." "It's fine. Just let me try. If I can't get a signal, I'll head up to the patio." "NO," there was an intensity to their voice, "Unless you have Sprint, you won't get a signal. You HAVE to go out on the patio." So, I'm a bit dense, and this is where I finally figured out what was going on. The unhelpful one did not want us there. They hadn't been volunteering any of the membership information, had said my friend couldn't join me, and they had this intense insistence that I leave. The message finally got through. They didn't cite any reasons to be turning me away, but I'm a queer man. For being new to the kink community, I was wildly unwelcome here. I came to Chicago Rose last night and was discriminated against by Lexi because I am not a trans female like her. She had given me some useful information to start the night, but as it went on, she was drinking more and eventually snapped at me. She felt the need to belittle me and my knowledge on trans subjects, and repeatedly asked how I have been oppressed like she has. She went on to assume I was a straight white woman when I hadn't disclosed my sexual orientation in any way, but felt attacked when I accidentally used the improper pronoun when talking with her. She then told me I was not welcome there and to leave. I was so disappointed. This was my first time at the dungeon and Lexi's attitude and unprofessionalism have cemented the fact that I will not be returning here. read more

Last night I went to the Chicago Rose and had a really good time, everyone was friendly and welcoming. This was my first time going to a Kink club and It was a very chill environment. I did not participate in any play but I didn't feel pressured to which was really nice. I chatted with some people for a couple hours, Including Lexi who was very nice.
