Before making such a significant investment, I sought a second opinion from another very skilled and experienced piano tuner and was told that my hammers were completely fine and all I needed was a tuning. I felt that I was trying to be majorly upsold, and did not appreciate that.

When we got to my apartment, it turned out the piano wouldn`t fit through the first floor stairwell! The back stairwell looked impossible to say the least, but these guys didn`t give up. It took more time and people, but they got the piano through the back to my disbelief! I think a lot of other places would have told me the job couldn`t be done, but they made sure I got my piano at the end of the day, and I really appreciate all of the extra efforts their team took.

The former owner of the piano texted me at 9:20am and said they were already gone and all had been smooth. They arrived promptly to deliver, called me to say they were here, and three strong piano moving experts carried the piano (a spinet) up to my second floor walkup (28 steps, 5 turns). They had moving blankets on the piano and did not touch any of the walls. Flawless. They were excellent, fast (but moved slowly and carefully), and very pleasant. And the price was right. Our previous piano tuner took over the business from his father-in-law. He really didn't put a lot…read moreof effort into his work and it showed. Besides having problems with the tuning,he'd tell us that he couldn't fix a dead key because he couldn't do that particular work, and that it was a huge job and would cost lots of money etc. Granted, we didn't do the ideal tuning every six months that you should do to keep it up. I discovered Gary's service while I was Christmas shopping at Sam Ash for my daughters. They had his business cards sitting on the counter, and I noticed that it read "Piano Tuning & Repair" which I thought was ideal. I asked the salesman there and he said that everyone liked Gary's work, and he came highly recommended. The first time he came over he not only expertly tuned the piano, but also fixed two bad keys on the spot for a reasonable charge. That was about 5 years ago and he has done our tuning and service ever since. Once you meet him you will instantly know that a) he is professional - easy to schedule and always on time, b) he is extremely knowledgeable and exudes confidence c) he is honest and he's not just looking to make a fast buck off of you. My daughter, who plays it, is absolutely thrilled at what he has done with her piano.

My daughter was enrolled in Ms. Jacque's class for over two years before we moved out of the city…read more Ms. Jacque is the best! She was one of the "newer" teachers but she is AWESOME! Her energy, enthusiasm, & silliness is very engaging for the kids, and she has a beautiful voice! Because she is newer, her classes were a little smaller, which is kind of nice. The veteran teachers are great too (I signed up for the holiday sing a long with Ms. Julie), but I noticed my daughter seemed a little less engaged in the other teachers' classes. I don't know if it had to do with the fact that classes were much more packed & she got less attention from the teacher (no fault on Ms. Julie, she does a great job connecting with all the parents & kids, her classes are just bigger). The program itself is awesome. My daughter's language development is way above average (not trying to brag but it's true) and I think this program has a lot to do with it. We still listen to the CD's at home, and the recordings are really pleasant even for adults to listen to. The songs are not irritating like some kids albums can be (parents, you know what I'm talking about). My daughter will request "Ms. Jacque music" in the car, so cute! I know my daughter misses her! If you are considering this program, I'd highly recommend it.
