Although we have been generally happy with the service provided by this clinic, we had an experience today that compelled me to write about them and suggest you review your options. Our dog Winnie, who we inherited from my mother in law after she passed away from ALS received her care from Chicago Drive. Part of the agreement was that her required vaccines were to be provided at no cost as long as the dog came in for her regularly scheduled annual checkup. My mother in law liked this idea and signed up and paid a fee to do so in 2013. This worked well and we took Winnie back on a regular basis. My mother in law passed away last April... My wife took Winnie in today for her annual checkup and any required vaccines and was told the agreed upon free vaccines with checkup were "not transferable" and were only valid with the owner... In this case, my deceased mother in law. My wife explained the circumstances to the staff and they told her it didn't matter! Why the program wouldn't extend to the same pet, as part of the same family, going to the same vet escapes me but thinking there must be some misunderstanding, I called to check. I was told the doctor was informed and told the staff the program was now void due to the "change of owner"... Yes, the owner who signed up for the program died and since that happened, they don't feel they need to honor their commitment? I'm very disappointed...
For that reason I felt compelled to give this negative review and in case you think it's about money, the savings would have been only about $25.00 that was added on to our $100.00 checkup invoice. It's not about money, it's about an approach to people that indicates their callous and indifferent regard for a situation that to me, a business owner, makes zero sense and demonstrates their lack of concern for their paying customers. read more
