Let's just say we were glad we made the switch and to one very close to home! From day one, working with AFCC was smooth and comforting. Insurance costs were discussed up-front, so we knew what was our responsibility. Each appointment was welcoming and generally convenient. On a side note, when I was at FCI, they opened their doors at 6:30 am for blood work and ultrasounds. The Crystal Lake location is open at 7:30 am...a little less convenient for those who need to go to work early but not a deal breaker. However, I only saw Dr. Irani during the initial appointment and worked mostly with his nurse, Ashley, for every blood draw and ultrasound. It looks like communication though with Dr. Irani and Ashley was solid because I can proudly say that I am 2 weeks pregnant from a successful IUI procedure (and after the 1st try!!). They know what they are doing! I will be seeing Dr. Irani for my last appointment, which will be for an ultrasound and I believe, final consultation. Demanded cash under the table in large amounts for further appointments that evidently had included terminating my insurance at appt dates, only for Naperville at one point, and false statements about accepting my insurance that when I went to the insurance company finally they did remedy as well as make sure she no longer was able to withhold records and for cash only for that either. But that is the one criticism I have, which is that office staff are able to and there was nothing I could do about it or the disturbance she was conducting for a good two weeks. At one point she went on at length about how the patients must learn all of their computer systems per office, and its evidently become somewhat like that with and via office managers in general at least at that point. I would actually recommend not returning any manager calls or emails that start like this and instead going straight to the insurance company to get your records and terminate the disturbance. In the long run HRD can sue the companies about staff vs us, but on this basis, ending the disturbance and stranger danger bullying and worse, is all you can do. There is law separating us from them with annual training course training required by HRA, but beyond that, you are being dragged into a war only they benefit from unless forcibly terminated. Licensing almost always also does this, but its also a long drawn out nightmare potentially while they keep going, vs insurance company vs to enforce the law to be on their provider list as clout being waived, able to complain on your behalf if they feel they should. Its pretty much all you can do. Also per insurance co as the only people who will and can protect you from them. And having the same problem reaching anybody who would provide mandatory licensed instead of the office staff. You have a computer system database invasion of your regulated info access by a practitioner unsupervised stranger danger when they do this highly illegal thing to patients and customers. Almost always anonymous due to illegality known to the employee. In banking at one point in the 90s, people like this were "borrowing" savings account deposits as 'free loans' to invest and return that got caught when they couldn't put the money back. The federal court issued a ruling allowing supervisor arrest for not monitoring the employees in that kind of case and theft "under their noses". Here they would need to block employees from unlimited access to our information and supervise them to stop them, and set computer system alarms and triggers notifying practitioners, but so far I know of nobody coming down on practitioners or other entities when staff do this but at US Bank also banking industry. In an analagous in that misuse regard, we now have to go somewhere else also for that much safety from the persons involved, of unknown relationship or what provoked this. But you can get your records out of them which are actually in turns out are supposed to be available on demand for free from the electronic portal but you have to know that and locate them. It was very sad in some ways after that kind of a very positive experience with the doctors who made a real difference vs what it usually seems or can turn into causing nasty problems that shouldn't be there., for years and years, and the office in Naperville or Lutheran General a couple of times. But it seems to be a coming plague with office employees and the public with licensed regulated services that aren't per regulation when the staff can turn them into this with a danger to you if they successfully entrap you into more than terminating the anonymous office person and getting your records, etc. Appears to be computer system office management system created as a problem in general potentially anywhere you go that could happen any time. Always licensed services are immediately out the window when it does. There is so little on practical basis that you can do about it and your safety, with your medical services out the window entirely, that its important to know how to at least get your records so you can get timely care somewhere else if at all possible and the insurance company can address what is supposed to be 30 days notice required also for services with a covering physician and refills, if you can't do it fast enough to go somewhere else in time for any reason.

She said, "I don't know what he does but it works. What do you have to lose?" That acupuncturist was Peter Harvey at Eastern Healing. Fast forward to September 2020, after multiple canceled FETs due to poor response and thin lining issues, Peter suggested to Dr. Rodgers that we try a natural, unmedicated cycle with herbs. Dr. Rodgers agreed. What did we have to lose? It was worth a shot. During my three year IVF journey, I prepped for several FETs (8 of which were canceled due poor results) and the one that actually worked was because of Peter's dedicated collaboration with Dr. Rodgers. The natural cycle coupled with herbs resulted in the thickest and best looking my uterine lining ever got over the three years. Because of this, I was able to proceed with my FET. Many thanks to Peter for being my advocate, for trying different approaches, never giving up and helping my husband and me realize our dreams of becoming parents. If Peter ever was compassionate, that was before his current burnout. I contacted Peter to begin acupuncture during my third IVF cycle (for male factor). I ignored a few red flags during my early appointments and tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. I understood he wanted me to give him four months to work with me before my next cycle. However, after consulting two of the top REs in both Chicago and NY (Dr. Catenacci at AFCC Chicago and Dr. Irani at Cornell NY) I made the decision that I would move forward with a cycle in November. While I understood he would be disappointed, I expected him to be professional. I took the time to explain to Peter that in addition to the expert medical opinions I received encouraging me to move forward in November, there were a number of other factors (both personal and financial) that made this timing right for me. Instead, Peter became extremely enraged and aggressive. He informed me that if I moved forward with an IVF cycle in November, I would be unlikely to become pregnant. And accordingly to Peter, if I did, it would not result in a live birth. Then, he went on to share with me the story of a 43 y/o IVF patient of his he saw that day. He shared that he encouraged her to take time off before her next cycle, but she did not (as if 43 y/os have a ton of time..). She then became pregnant with twins. He said he then did not see her for 6 weeks. She then lost the twins at 10 weeks. He blamed her loss on her not keeping up with acupuncture. My reason for seeking acupuncture is in large part stress reduction. I don't need an acupuncturist scaring me to death. While I expect an opinion and advice, he was not professional or compassionate. I will be looking elsewhere.

Did she follow up with additional testing to figure out why there's blood in my urine? Or advise me on how to move forward? Nope. Turns out I had massive kidney stones in both kidneys which a month later I woke up in immense pain and it induced early labor. If she had done additional testing and follow ups, I could've been referred to a urologist and developed a plan. Just absolute sub par care and according to the nurses at Evanston, they can't stand Conte either. I hope Evanston HR sees this and acts accordingly. Mary Conte is the reason I and my entire family have switched from this OB practice to Advocate.

Review for Northshore Fertility on Dempster "Taking into consideration being emotional from the experience of infertility, I felt incredibly let down by this office. 1. The owner was very available and friendly until after I signed on- then her time was seemingly more valuable- instead of answering the calls or texts that she invited prior to me a signing on, now I was told to make an appointment to discuss simple questions. There was one exception where she spent time with me after I signed on - for the one call she made to clean up the receptionists poor judgement - she then was cloyingly sweet and incredibly condescending. 2. The office is disorganized. Appointment times were given and written on the little reminder cards only for me to arrive and be asked what I was doing there. These are timely appointments related to your cycle and cannot be adjusted. This happened twice and both appointments were then rushed. 3. There is zero patient education. I never left with any written instructions about next steps or medications I was being prescribed. There is no portal where this information is accessible either. 4. The staff is cold. I heard that each of these people who work there have experienced infertility themselves and therefore it should have been an overly empathetic and warm situation. Totally opposite. Very minimal communication. 5. Got the skeezy in it only for the $$$ vibe. I came there sharing that I wanted to do IVF. Im a nurse and my partner a physician. We're self pay. There is no insurance red tape and we understand the processes. Instead of discussing plans for what we wanted, I was pushed into doing 5 medicated rounds and then after they all failed, encouraged for our next step to be IUI. I didn't want any of that. I came through the door saying I did not want to do IUI. I kept being told that "it's so much cheaper to do this way...." Hmmm.... I'm pretty sure we need IVF and the 12k+ it will end up being for these cycles/ 3-4 IUI will just be a bonus for your pockets on top of the IVF costs. Crap logic. I'm sure there could be more to say honestly, but this is enough. Turns out the only benefit to choosing NorthShore Fertility was a shorter drive to the clinic. After my experience switching to Advanced Fertility Centers of Chicago, their warm and inviting nature, combined with professionalism-that permeates from the top down , just really shines even more light on just how crappy Northshore is..... I would NEVER encourage anyone to go to Northshore. Funny side note, I had an X-ray on my knee recently and the tech and I were chatting, turns out she used Northshore and completely agreed!!! Where do I even start? This is going to be long, but the IVF process is difficult, and the decision…read moreas to which clinic to go to is important, so, take your time to read it and don't make the same mistake we did. A little background. Me and my wife do not have fertility issues, we discovered we are both carriers for an extremely rare genetic disease, so that's why we are doing IVF, to not pass it on. Let's start from the beginning. 1. The initial meetings with Dr. Schell should've let us everything we needed to know. She was late for our first few meetings. Not 2 minutes late, like 20+ minutes late. This was after we sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes because no one was working the desk. Why wasn't anyone working the desk? Because the receptionist is not only the receptionist, she's was also the phlebotomist, and ultrasound tech. She did everything. 2. Communication is non existent. As we are going through the process, we are told nothing, we call, we message, time and time again, we can't get a call back, can't get ahold of anyone. It takes weeks (not exaggerating) to get a call from them to answer questions. We are told nothing except "we'll send a message to Dr. Schells team" and we hear nothing for weeks. In spite of the disgusting and shocking lack of communication, we somehow make it to egg retrieval. We have a great success of 27 eggs retrieved. We were so excited! Communication was a little better for a short time, then, it stopped again. We hear nothing, can't get ahold of anyone. Then on November 4th we get a call from Dr. Schell. She calls us to tell us none, zero, as in 0, of our eggs made it to blastocyst. Let me remind you, again, they tested us, and we do not have fertility issues. Heartbroken. Here's where we really get pissed off, Dr. Schell calls us, and doesn't know who we are. She thinks my wife is 26 (she's 33). Then shes talking about a fresh transfer, which we cannot do because the reason we are doing IVF (both carriers for generic disease). So we have to explain to Schell why we can't do that. Unacceptable insanity to call patients and know nothing about them. It's like they don't keep files on their patients. When she made those 2 unacceptable mistakes, I wanted to blow my top on the phone, but that wasn't going to help and it wouldn't them any less incompetent. So, I bit my tongue. 3. Fast forward to November 23rd. After 19 days of trying to contact them and being ignored, we finally hear back. The bad news? Once again they have no clue what's going on. The nurse who calls us has no idea we have already been through a cycle and are currently patients of theirs, no idea we've been trying to go through a 2nd cycle. She's clueless, utterly and completely lost. So this is the 2nd time we've been called and they knew nothing about us. We had to set up a "consultation" with Dr. Schell a week and a half out just to be able to have a conversation with our doctor, or anyone from her team that can answer a single questions for us. Yup, that's correct, we had to set up a consultation thats used for new/prospective patients just to be able to talk try and get questions answered. 4. So, 19 days after we got the bad news none of our embryos made it to blastocyst, they have not even started the process to get us set up for our 2nd cycle. They've sat on their hands and had done absolutely nothing for almost 3 weeks. It was at this point, we decided not to waste anymore time or energy on these idiots. As we are speaking with other clinics, a miracle happens, they CALLED US! They called to tell my wife to get back on birth control, we told them "okay, you got it", and went about our search for a new clinic. The hilarious part is, we never heard from them. As far as they were concerned, we were still going through a 2nd cycle with them. They didn't know we had decided to go to a different clinic. And we never heard from them again! So, if you go here, you will need to harass them non stop or they will literally forget you're there and you won't make it through the process. In conclusion: The IVF process is hard, it's emotional, it's draining. Me and my wife want so bad to just have a healthy child together, and this place is disgustingly incompetent. I can't believe they have a license to practice. As a husband who has had to see his wife go through non stop frustration and pain only to be made worse by the incompetency of this place, STAY AWAY from advanced fertility. This place is a dumpster fire, truly an unmitigated trainwreck. The lack of communication, and competency, it's truly shocking. I can't say enough bad things about them. We tried the Clomid cycle with the Hcg injection and scheduled intercourse twice. We wanted to start with medications first. We worked with Dr. Catenacci and her team of nurses. Dr. Catenacci has great bedside manner, she's respectful and honest. I felt she always had my best interest in mind. I can say the same for the nurses. The nurses and secretary were always friendly and there to help. The first cycle I miscarried at around 6 weeks and the second was a successful pregnancy. We just welcomed our healthy little boy this past February. This is a great clinic, a bit hidden from the other places in Chicago, a gem. If you plan on going through fertility treatments just make sure you have a good support system ready, expect ups and downs. We will definitely be going back for our second child when we're ready.

My wife and I went through this practice in 2020 and were very happy with our experience, Dr Tur Kaspa was fantastic and the staff was so wonderful and attentive. Sadly, he has retired, but we still wanted to try again to have a second child. I would be the one to conceive this time around. I had a consultation with Dr Murphy, and that was officially the last time I ever heard from her. My entire cycle was managed by staff, which would be fine if there was some consistency in the communication, but there was not. Right from the beginning, I felt Dr Murphy spoke in a way that conveyed most likely IUI wouldn't work on the first try, and she said several things about future cycles before the first cycle had even occurred. I felt from day one with her that she just didn't exude confidence in the process. The vibe with her was truly off. I live in another state, so some of my monitoring was done in another Pinnacle practice. It turned out, that practice measured follicles completely differently than Chicago, making my ultrasound results totally inconsistent. The most frustrating part was after 2 weeks of letrozole and monitoring, it was finally down to the wire when IUI would be occurring, and my patient navigator, who had been working with me since May, was going to be out of office for nearly 2 weeks. I wasn't told this until she was already gone. Then, the person who was covering for her was completely unresponsive. The last time my follicles were checked, my measurements were taken at 9am. I sent the labs and ultrasound over through the portal, and I confirmed with them that they had been received. At 3pm, I had still not heard from anyone at Pinnacle on next steps, but I had been told multiple times I should plan to trigger at night and the IUI would take place 2 days later. They knew I would have to travel from Michigan to Chicago for the IUI, so I was looking for some notice to plan when I would need to leave. At 3:30, I had to literally stalk someone at the practice, beg for a call, and finally was met with an excuse that Dr Murphy hadn't received my labs, even though hours prior I had sent them through the portal and again, confirmed they were received with a phone agent. They said they'd let me know by EOD what to do. Then I got an email about an hour later around 5pm, saying my IUI was going to be the next day at noon! I had't triggered yet, no one called me, and I had to travel from another state. I have a small child, a job, a life! I had to do my trigger shot immediately, pack, and rush out the door at 6:30pm, drive over 5 hours to Chicago, get a hotel, and call off work the next afternoon. Then, when I arrived for the IUI, I found out for the very first time Dr Murphy doesn't even do the procedure! It was an NP, which, fine, but I've literally spent a longer time in line at the McDonald's drive-thru than I did during the time for the IUI. It was in and out, no after-care advice, no communication. I didn't hear a peep from the practice for 2 weeks. They scheduled my labs again via email. No call, no asking if that time worked for me. Then I get a text that my navigator is changing yet again. So this is 3 different navigators in one cycle. I just got the call that my HCG was negative, shocker. They dropped the ball in so many ways, I am certain that they missed the window and panicked, scheduling my IUI and rushing me out. This place has simply become another corporate nightmare, buying up fertility practices all over the country but failing to instate quality control. Save your money. They don't have the time or ability. For a medical service that was entirely out of pocket, I could have lit $3000 on fire and achieved the same outcome. The best part of this practice has clearly left the building.
