This unassuming little Italian diner is serving up some pretty impressive dishes. I visited when it had only just opened its doors, so understandably the dining room was relatively empty. No matter - my friend and I got the royal treatment from their staff who are clearly keen to ensure customers enjoy themselves.
Zucchini flowers stuffed with pumpkin, goat's cheese and marjoram are a light and crispy start, followed by a perfectly cooked fillet of barramundi atop confit roma tomatoes - the tomatoes were so luscious and flavoursome, I would have been happy to eat them as a stand alone meal. The roasted pork belly was an elegant dish, served with saffron roasted pears and parsnip puree. To finish, a proper tiramisu layered with thick, rich mascarpone is the real Italian deal.
Its refreshing to see someone - that is, chef Andrew Prasad - taking fine dining to a part of the city dominated by late nigh kebab joints. To top it all off, it's also BYO, an option hard to come by at fellow quality Italian restaurants. read more
