I've been to SE Asia-Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Viet Nam, Cambodia and Laos, so I know the food very well. This was not that... it was Chinese trying to make SEA foods. I ordered their version of Kung Pao Chicken. While the chicken and vegetables were cooked perfectly (see pic) however when they hit their salty sauce, it was ruined. They kindly remade it for me and it was the SAME level of saltiness. I ate what didn't hit the salty sauce and left the rest. I swear their sauce tastes like it's made from the pastes you get from the grocery store. So it came time to get my check. It was 17,90 Euro. So I pulled out my Mastercard and the waiter said only cash when bill is below 20 Euro. So my waitress came back because he was annoyed with me. I wanted to make the bill 20 Euro by getting a bottle of water or something. So she brought me water. And I said that if they have a policy about the bill must total 20 Euro to use a credit card that it should be posted. She said that it was on the door in German (see door pics, no mention of credit card minimum) but it was NOT posted. Only eat here if you need salt... the only good thing I tasted was their homemade ice tea.

I've gone to a fair amount of Thai restaurants, including one in Camden, Maine called Long Grain that is near and dear to my heart. But this one takes the cake. I'm no expert on Thai cuisine, nor have I even been to Thailand or truly scoured the Thai cuisine available in America, but this is the best thai food I've ever had. That PAD THAI. Our table was collectively moaning with every bite. This was the true standout dish; everyone agreed it was the best they'd had. The red curry and green curry (one with chicken, one with beef) were also both EXCELLENT. And for appetizers, we did a sampler where the chefs surprise you for €12/person, which was fun and also incredible. I really mean it. This place is goated. So so so good. Can't overstate how much I loved this spot. Like other reviewers said, definitely make a reservation in advance, as it can get packed even on weeknights. We made one the night-of as soon as the place opened, over the phone, and had no issues though.

I loved the simple and modern decoration and setting at this place. When we walked in there is no table available however the lobby must half full but rest of empty tables had name marked on a small wooden board. After a few minutes of checking, we were told if we could finish meal in one hour we could take that table. We happily took the chance and ordered very quickly. Shared appetizers of chicken satay and tofu spring roll. Both are really tasty and especially chicken satay which we ordered second of it. I ordered beef noodle soup which is probably the best I have tried in Thai place. Broth was pretty tasty. Beef was cooked just right. Little too much noodles but I could not hold it off and finished it all. Other friends got green curry which must be good as they finished those all quickly. Service were pretty quick and attentive. Beer options were not too many.. Definitely will go back before the end of this trip.

We stopped in for a mid-week lunch, and while it wasn't packed, there were several other tables, and one was speaking thai (always a good sign). Service was friendly, and we had no trouble getting by with our pidgin German. The menu was in both German and English, except for the weekday lunch specials page, which was German-only. Since we never get to do so, we both went with something off the lunch special list; chicken curry rice for me, pad thai for my wife. Lunch specials come with a bowl of soup and a little dessert as well, in our case a chicken and rice soup to start, and a bowl of tapioca mango balls in sweet milk. The soup was fantastic; the broth had a nice flavor of chicken, ginger, garlic, and maybe mushroom, and while it was't a huge portion, it was plenty to start the meal and warm up after a chilly morning. The curry rice was also quite good; cooked well and not soggy or mushy. It had a touch of spice from the sliced green chilis in it, but wasn't spicy per se. The pad thai was what I would refer to as German-style; cooked well and with all the right ingredients, but with a touch of what seems to be tomato paste or ketchup in it that gives it a slight different flavor than what you get in the US. Certainly the best pad thai we've had here, but it does taste different than we're used to. The tapioca mango balls in sweet milk was a fantastic way to end the meal. I would describe it as a sort of out-of-season mango and sticky rice flavor; the mango tapioca balls were a little chewy like mango and sticky rice, and the sweet milk was just like the sauce that gives over the top. Like the soup, it wasn't an American-sized dessert, but it was plenty to leave you with a sweet taste at the end of the meal, and a damn good reason to come back if we are in Koblenz again!
