I have loved the oyster tasting experience in Arcachon and nearby Cap Ferret. Chez Yannick is a great little spot in the village of Le Canon...you have a nice place to sit on the back deck (as the tide comes in, the water rises, up to beneath the deck floor--high tide is the best time to come). The service was good and accommodating (I speak French, so I cannot advise regarding how well they do with only English speakers).
