She is very quick and covers a lot of area in each session. I have never had any ingrown hairs or damage to my skin afterward. And she always has little bags of ice for the way home, to help keep the swelling down. I have a tricky form of vertigo. From the beginning when I reached out about it she has been very accommodating. She really worked with me to find a way to have my treatments and not leave super dizzy. I was constantly using heavy makeup to cover up the ingrown hair bumps, scarring and the shadow on my upper lip from constant shaving and plucking that lead to skin damage and hyperpigmentation. Sylva came to the rescue and recommended electrolysis for permanent hair removal. She was honest that it would feel like a pinch, but could not only rid me of hair growth permanently but it would also clear up the ingrown hair bumps and scarring and clear up the shadow on my upper lip. I have been going to Sylva for electrolysis. She does an excellent job. My facial hair is lessening after each treatment. I have struggled with facial hair for years and I am finally getting desired results. Facial hair is an awful problem as it looks terrible on your face and it is quite embarrassing. I have never had any redness, outbreaks, or infections as a result of the treatments. Sylva is very careful throughout the treatment to apply ointments that prevent issues that could arise. In addition, she is a warm, caring person who is very knowledgeable about skincare. She is open to questions and giving advice. Her office is immaculate and I cannot recommend her more highly. As many of my co-workers and friends can testify, I'm a huge fan of acronyms. I love trying to slip them into daily conversations. Will text them out to friends on the regular, and have had my brother hang up on me on many an occasion for overusing them on phone conversations. But one of my favorite acronyms as of late is PFB. If you're into skin products and you are not familiar with this product - then you are seriously missing out. PFB has been a lifesaver on many a hurried shave day. It heals skin irritation quickly and efficiently and it's far more easier to apply than Tend Skin. Unfortunately there are only a small handful of spots in the city that carry this product. Luckily, Chez Sylva is one of them. I happened to pass by Chez Sylva the other day, and I peered through their blinds. I did a quick double-take when I saw PFB sitting pretty - perched on their shelves. I made a late night call to them, and promptly the next morning Sylva herself called me back and said I could drop by to pick some up. You can tell a lot about people from first impressions and I was immediately comfortable with Sylva when I walked into her small intimate space. She was helpful and listened to my skin woes, and her and her awesome new staff member Chaza even provided me with a quick consultation about some of their procedures. I chose here based on her years of experience, location convenience, and most importantly bc she's an aesthetician and knows skin. When you research electrolysis effectiveness, the technique of the electrologist is really important, so I wanted to go to someone that has had the experience to perfect their craft. Electrolysis is painful, but at least I know it's working and Sylva provides ice to help with pain and healing. Sylva also goes the extra mile and puts creams on my face afterwards and uses a device to encourage absorption. She also gives me something to hold during the treatment that sends a pulse (I think to distract or calm me). She does an amazing microdermabrasion that lasts about 50 minutes. Some parts can be a bit painful, but the end result is beautiful glowing skin.
