Recommended by our hotel, three of us dined at the early seating at this local spot located away from the old town, yet merely a 10 minute walk from our hotel. We arrived promptly at 7:30 and were the second party seated but within 10 minutes the entire place was full and buzzing with activity. Our friendly and spunky waiter, Paul, parentheses maybe the name sake Pablo?) Was hurried yet very friendly. We started with the abundant platter of charcuterie consisting of thinly sliced local meats including ham on the Bayonne, salami, and chorizo plus some local pate made from pork. For entrées two of us enjoyed the entrécore (thin steak) which came with fries and a bit of salad and one person got the pan fried fish which was delicious. Of course the meal came with mouthwatering French bread. An inexpensive yet delicious bottle of red wine from St. Emilion was a great accompaniment. We were too full for dessert but the choices looked appetizing. If you are looking for a truly local spot, this is a great choice. Reservations required. read more
