The front desk clerk was friendly. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel was quiet during my stay. The AC and mini-fridge worked very well. The TV has limited channels, no in-room coffee maker, no breakfast available and limited outlets for your electronics. Free WiFi available. The shower amenities were limited to a shampoo, conditioner, body wash combo. Water pressure was average at best and it took forever to get warm - not hot, just warm. Should I return to bike the trail again, I would probably look to book a room closer to the trail and the restaurants.

The room and motel are very basic, but the room is a good size and EXCEPTIONALLY clean. Very quiet motel and Vince and management are fantastic! We weren't sure what to expect as we have never stayed in anything lower than a 4 and a half star hotel, but upon reading the reviews we thought this looked like it was worth a try as the price was right and we have to watch our money now. My husband and I HIGHLY recommend this place. WONDERFUL stay and wonderful treatment!! Also, don't forget to try the La Table Des Gourmets restaurant in the town; best food we ever had in our life--worth the price; you will feel like you are dining in France!! Rapids by the bridge are within walking distance; ask the locals where they are :)

It wasn't cheap but it was one of the cheaper places in the village. It's at the bottom the village near the clock tower. It's a quick walk up the hill to catch the gondolas to head up the mountain, plus there are restaurants within walking distance. The free stand-up gondola which takes you to the top of the village is nearby. There was a mini kitchen as we entered. There was a living room/dining room (alas the fireplace doesn't work). There was a bathroom off the dining room/living. Go up the stairs and you were in the bedroom. And there was a bathroom off the bedroom (yes, there were two bathrooms!!). Breakfast was from 6:30am to 10:30am ... there was toast, eggs, cereal, waffles, fruit, juice, coffee, etc. When we went down just after 10am yesterday there wasn't much left. Gord went earlier today and had eggs, etc. You have to pay for Internet through an outside provider (it was $25 for three days and it worked well). There is parking ... we had flown in and taken a shuttle from the airport so I don't know too much about it. There is an outdoor hot tub that we had intended to use yesterday but never got a chance. After snowshoeing, we came back to our room and chilled instead.

Owners are a little hard to communicate with (due to their first language and accents) and some of our package details were lost in the planning. I had to reconfirm with our caterers what was part of our package. All in all, it was wonderful to have a self sufficient caterer (no access needed to a kitchen). They were polite and responsible and cleaned up their area spotlessly when they left. I would recommend South African Connexion to anyone looking for amazing food at a reasonable price!

Spent the weekend here on a de-stress getaway…read more When we arrived on Friday at 8:00pm, the parking lot and entrance was a complete sheet of ice. What's more is that the entrance is up a pretty steep hill. It was so slippery our car couldn't get up so we had to park in the lot at the bottom of the hill and walk up with our bags. OIE. We were pretty upset upon arrival after having almost fallen and broken our necks 10 times on the way up. The story was: their contractor who applies the rocks & sand was called hours ago and they had no idea where he was. Be it true, that was extremely dangerous for us. They should be more diligent with that hill or they may run into legal problems. Having said that, you may wonder why I've given this place a 4 star ? The icy welcome aside, we had a great time. 8 outdoor Jacuzzis, 1 indoor pool, 1 indoor hot tub (with jets), 1 steam room, and massage services. It is ultimate relaxation. The restaurant is in the hotel, right by the spa and it was excellent. Facilities are very clean. The outdoor Jacuzzis are too cool! The room we had was cozy but quite small. Our room had a King sized bed, it was very comfortable. The owner told us they will be upgrading the rooms soon. We received $35 off our next stay anytime... even high season.
