But it seemed really unnecessary for a business to make a light-hearted jaunt to an antique gift shop into something political. Lee's Trading Post has a little of both. You'll find inexpensive jewelry, soaps, t-shirts, rocks and a plethora of trinkets to spend your money on. There are also packaged treats-candies, jams, fruits, etc. The thing that sealed the deal for us was the ice cream. My wife and I each got a scoop. I'm not sure the brand (I think I know, but not certain), but the mint chocolate chip is sooo good. I will come back just for that-and probably to pick up a thing or two from the shop.

The Zion Canyon Visitor Center was an amazing first stop and made the rest of our visit much…read moreeasier! We stopped during the fourth of July weekend at Zion from Las Vegas! It is located just inside Zion National Park's South Entrance at Springdale, Utah. This is the main visitor center for Zion Canyon so it is the most convenient location for getting maps, checking trail conditions, asking questions, and figuring out the shuttle system. The rangers were helpful, and the outdoor exhibits were useful for planning the day! The visitor center is right next to Zion Canyon Shuttle Stop 1, which is the starting point for the shuttle into the canyon. During shuttle season, private vehicles generally cannot travel along Zion Canyon Scenic Drive, so this is where most visitors begin their trip to places like Zion Lodge, The Grotto, Weeping Rock, and the Temple of Sinawava. The shuttle is free after entering the park, and no separate ticket or reservation is needed. Shuttles leave this stop seasonally, but operating times change throughout the year so be sure to check the schedule before your visit. There is a large parking lot, but it can fill quickly especially during summer, weekends, and holidays! Luckily we got in early around 6:30 A.M and found a spot open. Parking inside the park is free after paying the park entrance fee and is available on a first come, first served basis. When the lot is full, the best backup plan is to park in Springdale and take the free town shuttle to the entrance. The center also has restrooms, drinking water and bottle filling stations, picnic tables. There is a park store with maps, books, souvenirs, and gifts, plus a Wilderness Desk for questions and permits related to backpacking and canyoneering. The park itself is open 24 hours a day, but the buildings have set operating hours. The current posted hours are 8:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. for the Information Desk, 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. for the Zion Park Store, and 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. for the Wilderness Desk. These hours can change seasonally, so double check before arriving! The Watchman Trail and the paved Pa'rus Trail are also accessible from this general area. I highly recommend stopping here before doing anything else in Zion!

There are more information panels outdoors than indoors, which takes advantage of the large plaza space so that there's not a crowd indoors. Indoors, there's the park shop and the information counter. The gift shop has a lot of books, plushies/kids activities, stickers, and other sundries. The rangers at the information desk were quick and efficient. They have to be given the sheer volume of visitors they have to help out! They were quite polite as well.

Seeing crowds of tourists in identical boots carrying the same poles felt like classic herd behavior and an unnecessary upsell. I was wrong. The rocks in The Narrows are uneven, slippery, and constantly changing. The boots provided great traction, and the pole was invaluable for both balance and gauging water depth. Could you buy cheaper gear for about the same price? Probably. But it likely wouldn't be as good, and you'd have to carry it around. Sometimes there's a good reason to follow the herd. Own that things could have been handled better; is a start. REVIEW: Very rude owners. Lacks good communication skills. Not neurodivergent friendly. This is not a safe place. I tried to communicate to the owner that my partner was autistic and was experiencing a melt down. She decided to have a power play and way worsened the situation from a lack of empathy and understanding. I went back to have a mature conversation and she was too prideful and egotistical. She said she was a therapist, she violated her oath and should be reported. She should never treat anyone this way and make the excuse that it's okay. Very disappointing. ** and now the owner is a liar. No vulgar or offensive language was used to any degree. I touched her arm in response to get her to calm down. Her aggression made it worse. She instantly threatened the police. Her communication skills are not there. She can't even own how she behaved. Me trying to get her to stop by gently touching her arm was for all involved safety. Are you really a therapist? You put people in danger when you are ignorant and when you distort the truth to protect your ego. For public safety: 1-Never crowd a person who is experiencing autistic meltdown, it makes it worse. She kept getting too close to him. I was touching her to let her know that she immediately needed to stop. I am his advocate and she refused to listen. Just kept getting closer. 2-DO NOT MAKE THREATS. It makes it worse! She chose not to listen and threatened to call police. If she had let me de-escalate she wouldn't have to defend her poorly made decisions but she was in a power play and refuses to take accountability. She matched his meltdown and made it worse. The public must hold space for disabilities. She violated his rights and tries to cover her tracks. DO BETTER! Own your shit!!! Food: 1/5 Service: 1/5 | Atmosphere: 1/5

My boyfriend was in town for a work conference and let me tag along, so my week mostly involved sitting poolside and reading, but I eventually ventured into town and found myself at this great thrift shop with a ton of fun stations. I went home with a couple of shirts, and one frame picture that I had to ship via FedEx after purchasing, and I love every purchase I made. Reasonable prices and some of the sections were half-off the listed prices. Not overly crowded, in the sense that you could walk through each area pretty easily, but also obviously very popular for sellers. In fact, my uber driver said that getting a station to sell here requires a 5-year wait list, which he was already on and had been waiting for a couple of years already.
