We were served a bread basket that was a reuse from a different table. How we could tell? One of the pieces of bread still showed a whole row of teeth marks, only the crust was left. Second clue, the owner herself came not to apologize (that would have been a confession) but to shower us with possible reasons why it happened...we are bakers ourselves, none made any sense to us. She knew she got caught and acted accordingly. Food wasn't impressive at all either, steak (was supposed to be as tender as butter) felt like rubber, the steak knife couldn't handle it without a fight. Poor quality meat. The service was efficient, and we were seated in the back patio on a hot summer's day. While it was warm, the area was nicely shaded, making it perfectly pleasant. The tartes are incredible! I especially loved the chicken and potato--it was so flavorful and comforting. I really need to figure out how to recreate this at home! :) I suspect it's a unique creation of this restaurant, rather than a dish you can find just anywhere. And, of course, my iced jus de pêche was the perfect refreshment for a hot day. I'll never forget this meal--thank you for such an amazing experience!
