Crêpes are a very special type of junk food, but unlike most such fare, only as good as the maker. Luckily, they're not that hard to do right (if you're even a little French, anyway), and most of the street or concession stands that sell them will give you a salted caramel or lemon sugar crepe worth the CHF5. But if you want to experience the full potential of the cuisine, you need to come see the masters.
Salty or sweet, stuffed with strange cheeses and meats, or with exotic liqueurs or just sugar, different batters... it's all here on the menu. Don't expect to leave after just one... life just doesn't work that way. And the house special coffee comes with a sweet surprise... but I won't spoil that for you.
This place has been around forever, according to my local source... and likely will stay as long. They keep their own hours, but are often open on Sundays and Mondays and other times when other restaurants are closed. It's a pretty safe assumption that if they're open they'll be busy... but the place is large enough that you'll likely find a seat anyway. They're right on Avenue du Premier-Mars with no parking, but there's a public garage not a block away by Place du Port, and also a large public lot by the beach up Rue des Arts. read more
