Hesperia Gas & Mart - Location of rude employee

Hesperia Gas & Mart

A customer at the counter redeemed some free lotto tickets (from scratchers) and wanted to use them to purchase Powerball and Mega Millions tickets. The Cashier said she wasn't sure if that could be done and called for help from another employee. The other employee, an older man with a ponytail, confirmed what the young woman said, stating that those are the rules for this gas station location. He pointed to a sign on the wall that read "we have the right to refuse service to anyone." He said those are the rules that his boss made, regarding the lotto tickets. The entire situation was horrible. I don't play the lotto often but every location I used in California allows a customer to redeem a free ticket won from a scratcher, to purchase a Powerball, Mega Millions (depending on the value of the scratcher's free ticket) or on some occasions even redeem the free ticket for cash. I believe the employees at this location could have been kinder to the customer. He was patient and also wanted to purchase beer from the store. After the interaction, the older man called me up to the counter while the Cashier continued to assist the customer. I asked the man if he knew if the Mason's Den food truck would be there that evening. He didn't recognize the name. Then I guess he remembered and said oh "the place with the funnel cakes?" I said yes. He said he wasn't sure, that the truck was usually there by now and if it wasn't that it might not show up. Overall my low rating of this establishment has to do with the interaction I observed and my interaction with the older man. I did not get gas from this location.

They had told me that all sales are final on nicotine products, which there's no posted signs there stating that. They stated they have to send it in to the manufacturer and that could be at least 3 weeks and not a guarantee to get it back or get a new one. When this happens almost a guarantee get a new one because it simply doesn't work. Most places will just give u a new one especially if it was so quick to come back. Would not suggest buying them here if ur on a budget. Be aware u will be putting out more money for another.

After leaving Chevron, but before returning my rental car, I found myself in a strange predicament…read more I had pumped 1 gallon of gas at Chevron thinking it was enough to cover what was needed. However, the gas gauge needle moved even lower than originally. I didn't drive around to allow it time to adjust, but usually I don't have to do that. Anyway, I drove past the car rental place and found this Shell. So here we go again. I pumped 1 gallon and the needle didn't budge. What is going on? I ended up pumping a total of 2 gallons. Finally, the needle moved all the way up to full. I ended up gifting a quarter tank of gas. It's all good. I was meant to give back to the rental car place for their good services. This Shell appears dated IMHO. The pump I was at was slightly damaged and there was no paper receipt available. I didn't walk in to get my receipt. The aisles had good space. I paid at the pump so no interaction with any staff. Prices were lower here than at Chevron which is a plus. They do have a food mart if you should need restroom facility and/or get some goodies to go. This may be another gas station option should you need gas prior to returning your rental car.

So, I give the lady my ticket and she scans it and says "Not a winner" and expects me to toss it by leaving it with her. I take the ticket back and go to my car to get my cell and go back in and show her how the ticket scans on the app and she is speechless and takes the ticket back and scans it again and I finally get my replays from her. If she scanned the ticket correctly the first time, it did not say "Not a winner" which means she is a f'n liar. Might seem petty over $3, but if she continues to screw people out of their money, it will add up over time. Unbelievable.
