8/18/24 Hubby needed a quick pit stop to use the facilities & I gathered I needed to stretch my legs. This Chevron location is conveniently located in the middle of nowhere for weary travelers like ourselves in need of fuel, snacks & a bathroom break. The map/receipt says Firebaugh, Ca. The restrooms were marked Men, Women--about 5 separate stalls, well stocked with TP, no paper towel, only air hand driers (least of my favorite). I couldn't resist it this time, grabbed some Nestle Dibs for the road, gotta quickly eat em before these melt! The cashier Janette, was friendly. Floors were being mopped while I was there. Terrible experience with a cashier named Maria. Every time you get diesel here, they keep your card inside until you finish fueling, which is already inconvenient. Maria took my card, left it visible on the counter, and when I politely asked her to cover it for security, she rudely said, "If you don't like it, cancel the transaction and leave." When I came back for my card, she handed it to me with attitude -- no words, just rude body language, like she was mocking me. Very unprofessional and disrespectful service. So we had to stop for gas and unfortunately we found the most expensive gasoline I have ever purchased!! But You gotta have the gas. I didn't fill up, but got enough to get me going for a while. I had read somewhere that the Chevron company takes pride in the cleanliness of their restrooms. So they even put it out to the customers. I have noticed that it's true for the most part. BUT NOT HERE! The men's room was absolutely disgusting. Of course, I had to go - so I go. The wife said the same thing about the women's room. I did not speak to the clerks - except to tell them that the restrooms were horrible. They said they were too busy to clean it!! Note to Self...DON'T EVER STOP HERE AGAIN FOR GAS!! read more

Attack with the mop! Wow! I stopped to put gas and went in to use the bathroom and the young lady was going to start cleaning and she said she would be 10 minutes and I waited. The clerk said I could use the men's but there were other men there and more came in and I couldn't hold it any longer and had to run to the ladies bathroom. I was so quick. The girl started cursing at me and when I tried to get out she pushed me with her body and purposefully threw the wet mop on me feet and hit my ankle with the hard part of the mop and she wouldn't let me physically get out. She kept sloshing water with the mop and kept hitting my feet with the wet mop. What a power trip. She could have let me use the bathroom before she started. Stopped here because it was the only gas station for miles and I was down to 4 miles on my tank. Seemed clean and staff was friendly. But when I went to pay I noticed this little gem. And when I asked why they have this racist shit up- the guy said "I just got here it wasn't here yesterday" . Great- we'll take it down. I also asked him to tell his manager that he got a complaint about this product being on the shelf. The product itself isn't the issue to be very clear, it's the racist flag on it that's the issue. Not sure how the reviews are celebrating a remodel, I went here in June and it did not look good. Bathroom?! They send you to the truck station around the corner and up the hill. Oh and they are disgusting. Bodily fluids all over. They require masks to go to the store, which is good but just be prepared. The gas pumps are new and updated, but the nozzles sucks as the vapor suction kept coming off while pumping. Would recommend not stopping here during this time. read more

Can't speak for the gas or the food but the women's bathroom is just absolutely filthy and nasty. The toilets don't flush and there is garbage strewn everywhere on the bathroom floor. The only upside is they have a couple stalls so you're not left waiting in a long line for only one or two stalls. read more

Pluses: very modern, large convenience store. My wife said the bathroom was clean and modern. The employees were all wearing masks and appeared to take COVID seriously. They sell biodiesel. Minus: Gasbuddy said that unleaded regular was $2.77, but it was actually $4-something, which was higher than the surrounding stations. It was the biodiesel that was $2.77. read more

I echo the statements with the low quality of the customer service. It goes below 1star to negative territory when the service workers ridicule the customers. Specifically the older (50+), short (around 5ft) Hispanic woman (providing a description since I did not get her name). If you take too long at the register this woman will start making smart a** comments and you can tell she chooses more colorful wording when she switches to Spanish. I don't write reviews often, but having such a negative service worker is shocking to say the least and this deserves to be noted. The gas pumps are working fine, and this is a pretty large store seemingly well stocked with plenty of what one would find useful on the road. Not noticing the readings of the fuel level sensor in time, literally on the last drops I got to this place and was surprised to find the price of biodiesel less than $ 3 per gallon. The payment process turned out to be somewhat difficult for my first time, as payment is made inside the building down the stairs. I can't really say one way or the other about this gas station. I think in general I'm just happy that its here. I mean, this is sort of about 90+ miles from San Jose, after what usually amounts to a terrible drive through 152 with a ton of traffic and people driving 30 mph because they're scared of the road curving. This is a nice stop when you need to top up, gas up, check on your tire pressures or simply let off some steam in the bathroom (ha!) It's pretty well lit at night and the gas pumps are new-ish so it doesn't take forever to pump gas. Not bad. read more

Stopped to get some gas on our way back from Bay Area. Pump 5 doesn't have a lever so gas was leaning in the car and my hubby's hand. They have 4 bathroom stalls for women... That's nice but still a line and not clean. No paper towels so you gotta wait till someone daring opens the door and then just follow, lol. Lots of snacks at cashier. Conveniently located off the Interstate 5 Freeway. Are gas prices high? Yup, but that is to be expected because there are no other gas stations nearby. Are prices higher for regular convenience store products? Yup. Again that is expected because of the lack of competition. Restrooms have worked during my stops here.
