    Sinclair Gas

I don't usually think to review the gas/convenience stations where we stop while on a road trip,…read morebut I felt this place warranted a shout-out. Me and The Hubs took a recent road trip from the Denver area to Santa Fe. We took I25 down to SF, but decided to take the scenic route back home via hwy 285 through Antonito/Alamosa/Buena Vista/Fairplay, etc. So- the (approx) two-hour stretch from SF to Antonito is anything but scenic. Also, there is nowhere to stop for a bathroom break (at least not that I saw and I was looking). Then, over the horizon, there it was! A gas station! And not just some old run-down two-pump thing but a real modern Sinclair gas station! Anyway, we pulled in and found very clean restrooms and friendly staff. This location had a decent selection of snacks and drinks and was clean overall, plus it had a small restaurant that serves burgers and fries (I didn't have one, but it was good to note for future reference). As I mentioned, this is now a Sinclair gas station (not Antonito Fuels) and is about 2 hours from Santa Fe. If you're heading north from there, you'll be ready to stop. If you're driving south, STOP HERE. There's nothing else in the two hour drive from here to Santa Fe. Trust me.

Truck stop + burger grille + fuel = Antonito Fuels to the rescue…read more So this reasonably-sized station is near the Colorado-New Mexico border. It was well-lit when I drove by on April 7, 2023. That is very important to me as a woman. The self-service pumps are available 24-hours. Also, I gassed the ol' Jeep up here on 4/10/2023 heading back home. The prices are competitive with the surrounding area, albeit on the high side. That morning, Sinclair's unleaded was $3.75 per gallon. They also have plus and premium gasoline as well as diesel. The station itself is large. Clean. Trash cans weren't overflowing. Not crowded with weirdo tourists, however, it was 8:30AM. Lol. Additional services: + air + ATM + propane Easy to access from both sides of the road whether you are in a small or larger vehicle with a trailer. I bet I'll be stopping here more in the future. When I found out this place had decent restrooms and a burger grille with really good burgers it was a match made in heaven for me.

This is the best travel center for miles around. I can't believe I didn't know of it until several…read moreweeks into my stay here. *It easily has the cheapest gas prices of any gas station around. Its nearest neighboring gas stations, approximately 30 miles away in Chama, are usually a couple cents to 40 cents/gallon more expensive. Case in point: this past weekend, Chama's gas stations were $3.89/gallon. This travel center was $3.40/gallon. Talk about inflated gas prices. *Tons of gas pumps. There is an air hose somewhere. *And during the weekdays during lunch hours, they have mutton/frybread vendors. $8 for a mutton green chile frybread sandwich. Yummy. The line gets pretty long so come early. I can't find an actual address for this place. But they're never concerned about actual addresses here so I guess it doesn't matter. In the spirit, it's right off of the main road of US 64 through town. You'll see it right off of the main intersection of town, between the supermarket and the fire department. You'll have to turn onto a little frontage road to get to it, but you can't miss it. And it's open 24/7.

No women in men's room!" big signs up to honor veterans-- Im wearing my husband Manas Air Base T- shirt-- doesn't matter- I'm a woman. I know a bathroom seems petty but go to dulce- where else can you try to use one? I'd give it NO STARS if I could.

Well here's my second attempt at writing a review for this place since my first got deleted lol…read more We stopped here after the gas station we stopped at 30 minutes before didn't have public restrooms The restrooms were clean enough! The mens restroom was out of order so the womens' had a sign that said "Men and Women's." Even so, this bathroom was clean enough that I felt comfortable! What was really great is that while we were there I saw one of the attendants checked the condition of the bathroom and the toilet paper dispenser! This place has a surprising selection of snacks and drinks, especially for how small it is! Lots of caffeine options (including Monsters, Java Monsters, Bangs, Black Rifle Coffee cans, and hot dispensers of at least 4 flavors of Green Mountain coffee!). Snacks from peanuts, chips, pretzels, candy, cookie dough, instant noodles, etc.) And the two attendants I saw were both very nice women! The only negative is that if my husband wasn't with me, I probably would not have gone in. I didn't like the look of the men walking into the store and there was a very concerning looking homeless man standing next to the road who was smiling and swaying back and forth in a large hoodie. I was glad our dog was in the car to bark just in case he came closer to the car. I know that may sound mean but as a 5 foot woman I do have to be a little cautious. Kudos to the workers here for making their establishment clean and welcoming once you get through the front door! They clearly have respect for where they work and their patrons! Also, the beginning of the town looks like it is out of a western movie!
