This is not my normal go to place for buying petrol, but I've stopped here a couple times, and I'm…read morecompletely unimpressed with this location. The couple of times I've been here, the station has not been busy, and I can see why. The prices really aren't that great considering some of the other Arco locations are much more competitive with their prices. Like most Arco gas stations, they charge you extra money if you use your ATM debit card to pay for purchases when you purchase gas. The pump arms are shorter at this location then they are at other locations, so consequently when you pull up to the pump make sure that you pull up so that you don't have to try to pull the hose over your car. The couple of times I have been here, the attendant inside wasn't very friendly, and made me feel like it was an imposition that I was even purchasing gas there. This could explain why the station has been emptied of customers when I've been there before. Unless you are really in need of gas, there are so many other stations literally within the immediate area of less than a mile, I would encourage you to check out some of the other locations.

One customer at the counter and they are all chatting like no one else needs is there. I finally just took my 35 gallon truck SOMEWHERE ELSE to FILL UP! They intermittently enforce masks. Way to go management! I won't be returning!

After an incredibly long day, (which we all have from time to time), I stopped to get gas as that was the closest gas station to my home and therefore the most efficient stop. I used my Earnify app to get the gas and walked into the store to buy a couple of lottery tickets for the evening's draw... I couldn't find the slips to select my numbers, so I asked the clerk at the register where they were. There was no one else in the store. He grunted, pointed and waved in a general location. I still could not find the kiosk with the slips, and so I asked one more time, and he belligerently began to yell louder and quite angrily. I found out a few seconds later after I finally located a very small turnstile with the slips on it that I was interrupting a personal phone call that he was having in his native tongue. I paid for my lottery tickets only to find that I was a dollar short and had to return to my vehicle to get an extra dollar to come back and pay, he huffed, he sighed dramatically, he rolled his eyes... I was flabbergasted so I said, "Thank you thank you! oh beautiful thanks so much." I smiled. I thanked him profusely and apologized for inconveniencing him and then I asked him if he was the owner... He said twice that yes in fact he was and so I asked him again to confirm "so you're the owner?" And he said no no no my uncle my uncle is the owner... And I said oh fantastic well what a fine establishment he has..." You know, I am also in customer service in a couple of different venues and when we have a customer come into one of our establishments, looking to spend their hard earned dollars, especially in this economy, with us in our stores if they have a question about something, we make it a point to go out of our way to help them to make sure that they have a pleasant experience. That's just common courtesy and it's really good business and when I am treated thusly, I am happy to continue spending my dollars in those establishments. After this experience, however, I will no longer frequent this particular gas station or its convenience store. In fact, I will go out of my way to avoid shopping at this particular gas station... And to the uncle of Kumal... I would have a serious talk with your nephew. Because he was rude. He was belligerent. He was condescending, and all of that will ultimately cause you to lose business. Perhaps you should train your nephew to treat people better and not conduct personal phone calls while customers are in front of him. Maybe send Kumal out into the real world with a real boss and a real job and let him learn how valuable good manners and great customer service is... Unbelievable... truly...

Safeway Fuel Station

One of my least favorite things to do is having to fill my tank up with gas. Unless you're the less…read morethan 5% of the population that drives an electric vehicle, then the majority of us find ourselves having to cope with inflated fuel prices; especially in the State of California. This is where "Safeway Fuel Station" comes to mind. The location I am focusing on is adjacent to the Safeway directly at the corner of Dewey Dr. and Madison Ave. in Fair Oaks. The main reason why I keep coming back here is that their prices are actually quite reasonable. And when I say reasonable, I mean they are just a few cents higher than Costco (in Citrus Heights) which can lead to much longer wait times. Additionally, this fuel station has very generous hours of operation being open for business 7 days a week from 5am-11pm. I do want to point out that if you pay with cash or use your debit card, prices are generally 10¢ lower than credit. And this applies to regular, plus, and premium. Furthermore, this fuel station also has pumps for diesel fuel. What I noticed in early-2023 is that they did a complete upgrade on their gas pumps and machines making it much easier to read. If you are a Safeway club member and do your fair share of shopping there, you are eligible for gas reward discounts. However, this is if you spend a LOT there meaning every $1000 spent gets you a 10¢ discount on your fuel. At least that is what I notice. Aside from that, this fuel station is never that busy and there are two different ways to enter/exit; through Madison Ave. or on Dewey Dr. With that said and done, I am being generous and giving the "Safeway Fuel Station" an above average four star rating. Prices are reasonable and usually fairly comparable to the other fuel station, "Kwik Serv" across the street. So to many that are on a budget and don't wish to spend more at Shell, Chevron, or 76, give this place a try.

I just wanted an explanation of how it does not work at all if you put in one number...
