I asked Yelp for something and this diner was the recommendation. We arrived at around 6:45pm and were warmly welcomed. The waitress took our orders and about 15 minutes later, dinner arrived. a "Cowboy burger" for me with fries and French toast with bananas for Mrs. K. Delicious, prepared well and plenty of it. I'd say the only ding is that the burger was cooked a bit too much for my personal taste - we weren't asked for a temperature and I should have asked. Prepaid for gas and when I got to them pump, nothing pump was never turned on . Printed out the…read moreticket showing 0 gallons and took it inside. The lady didn't speak good enough. Told her what had happened and she said you'll have to pay again. So I did prepay again went to pump and still nothing. I tried to print a receipt from the pump again but this time it wouldn't let me. I went back inside and explained to her that the pump was not working. She ask if I wanted to change pumps that she would transfer the money to another pump. I said sure,then she tried and it would not transfer so she said you'll have to pay again.i lost my cool with her. Really lady I have paid 50 dollars and I haven't gotten any gas and you want me to pay 25.00 more dollars. That's a total of 75 00. Thank God I was using my debit card and nothing was withdraw from my account. She said do you still want gas No lady I just pulled up to your pumps to take a nap. We were about to get to the point of no return or take some back roads. Popped in here to fill up and grab a drink so that we wouldn't be on the back roads w/o any gas. Station really wasn't too bad! Conveniently located near Hwy 65 exit, it was easy in and easy out. Not tons of pumps, but enough for what we needed. Convenience store was more of the typical. Exactly what you'd expect from Shell. Staff were friendly enough when we were checking out. We wouldn't have a problem stopping here again in the future. Oh, and we delayed long enough there was shorter delay on 65 than that of taking the back road. So success on that front also.

It could have been warmer but I didn't tuck into it until it got colder :-( Bummer about that since it was quite good even without the usual blast of hot sauce. Eight pumps on four islands look to be more than enough. Besides the standard fare of packaged snacks and beverage they's got food service dishing out hot breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. BTW: the old guys hanging out drinking coffee and suspiciously eyeing strangers while yapping about weather (or not) are typical rural Americana and not to be taken seriously.

A little traffic, and watch out for pump 7, if you use it make sure you have cash on you. We were very fortunate to have that.
