Throughout my journey I appreciated their patient education, empowerment, and support so I could make informed decisions about my care. I like that my prenatal visits were longer than I could expect with an ob and that they provided a binder for me to bring with assigned homework each visit. Rather than having a "birth plan" (because they usually don't go as planned anyway) we were encouraged to think about our hopes and dreams. Everyone I've met here from the nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, lactation consultants, the clinical director, etc. have all been wonderful to me and if I could do it all over again I would have become a patient here sooner. I had many questions along the way so I'm going to be detailed here so others may know what to expect. Before you can become a patient here you have to attend a seminar to learn more about their midwifery model of care, the differences between a birth in their suites vs. at Bryn Mawr Hospital nearby (you can plan to deliver there or there may be reasons you are transferred there the day of, the nurse midwife on call has the clearance to deliver there), postpartum care, and next steps to become a patient. After attending the seminar, I had to sign a medical release forms to have my records transferred from my previous provider before I could schedule any appointments. They have two locations (Bryn Mawr and South Philly) and prenatal visits could be with the same provider or different providers. The first prenatal visit is longer and billed separately while the rest of the appointments are billed to insurance together under their global plan after delivery (not after each appointment). During my regular prenatal visits they measured my fundal height and would feel my bump for the baby's position while estimating weight (they were pretty good at that)! I had to pay for lab tests and non-stress tests separately. While I had to do my formal ultrasounds elsewhere, they had the equipment to do informal ultrasounds just to check on the health of the baby and seemed to be training their staff to do these more. I was required to schedule several classes to prepare for childbirth (series of 4 classes), about lactation essentials, and about navigating your first days at home after birth. The instructors really encourage asking questions and participation, so it was helpful to have this intimate space for that. The dates and cost of these classes are available on their site but you can't schedule them until you're confirmed as a patient. After your delivery they will follow up with you (home visit if you delivered at the birth center or phone call if you delivered at the hospital). There will be a 6-weeks postpartum visit to examine you and make sure your body is recovering but also to check on your mental health (so necessary and important)! They also have weekly lactation support and new parent support groups that were happening on Zoom, I think they are also now offering in-person options too. I could tell from the session I went to that the other families really found this space helpful and were wanting to offer encouragement to newer parents like me while sharing about their knowledge/experience. Cara, one of the lactation consultants, facilitates the virtual groups and is amazing! I hope all this information helps anyone who is considering becoming a Lifecycle patient because the last thing a pregnant woman should have to worry about is the quality of care she is receiving.

Wait time in the office both times has been under 10 minutes and the first time was only so I could fill out paper work! I get it that OB/GYNs are few and far between and the nurses are probably overworked, but this office is losing so many patients just because they can't hire more to pick up the slack!! I made an appointment with this office a month in advance as a new patient. I did not receive any forms sent prior to my appointment but did receive a text reminding me of my appointment time and the address. My GPS took me to a large hospital facility and I wasn't able to located their office so I called the office telephone number listed on their website. My first call, was fifteen minutes before my appointment, I still had plenty of time to make it if someone would just tell me where the office was but no one answered the phone. It was just a continuous automated voice response loop. Over and over again. I called four times and left two messages. Approximately 1/2 hour later an office person calls me back and tells me that the office is in the building behind the hospital. I asked if my appointment would be held since I had been trying to contact them for 1/2 hour - she assured me that she would call over to the office and let them know that I was there and on my way. I enter the building and begin searching the directory - this office is NOT LISTED!!! I walk around trying to find someone who can direct me to their office and finally find someone who says that they think its on the 2nd floor. I walk all over the second floor and NO WHERE IS THE NAME OF THIS OFFICE LISTED anywhere. I finally walk into another OBGYN office in the building and ask if they are associated and the receptionist says no they are suite 270. Ok, I go in search of suite 270....name on plaque outside of door....MULTI-CENTER SUITE???? Yes, totally reasonable to expect patients to find this... I enter the multi-center suite and am not greeted by any of the front desk staff which appeared to be set up a multiple registration desks. A large sign said, sign in and someone will call you for registration. I sign my name - sit for twenty minutes and of course no one calls my name. I walk up and said excuse me, I'm here for my appointment and no one is calling me - she asked who I was trying to see and when I mentioned this office she said "oh, you have to go to booth 5"..what??? How would I know this?? NO SIGN, NO NAME OF BUSINESS ANYWHERE???? I go over to booth 5 and the woman said I can't be seen because I am late. Unbelievable. I explained that I waited a month for this appointment because I am having a health issue - that I called several times (showed her my phone for proof of the calls) explained that the name of their office isn't listed anywhere outside or inside the building and she said "I noticed that they other day and said that's why patients can't find us".... I was just floored. Again, I am having a medical issue and needed a physician. This place is so unprofessional that I'm shocked that an educated physician runs this office. I have never written a negative review because I truly believe everyone has off days - this isn't an off day this is just a blatant disregard for patient care. As I was leaving I called the office again - shocked to say that they didn't answer...again. I left a message asking for the office manager to return my call. I waited a full 24 hours before writing this review and reporting to my insurance carrier. I wouldn't recommend this place to any woman looking for a practice that has reachable staff and caring physicians.
